Generally, I am not a nap person. Even when I was a teeny baby, my mom has recalled time and time again, that I just never took a nap. She swore even as a tiny infant, I was ‘afraid I would miss something’ and would refuse sleep until night.
So today, after a lot of stress at home for the last week or so, after a lot of projects consuming my time, and life in general, I suppose I just had a collapse and fell into sleep.
Seems it was a poor choice of day and time to take a nap as while I slept, tornadoes hit Pasadena and not far from where I live. I remember falling asleep hearing the thunder and seeing lightning out the window. I do recall the spooky sky and threatening winds, but, I was just so sleepy….
The National Weather Service says a severe storm that swept through Maryland this evening spawned a tornado in Severna Park.
Anne Arundel County Emergency Operations Center spokeswoman Pam Jordan says that there were two touchdowns — one on either side of Cattail Creek.
She says about 20 houses were damaged by falling trees and five of them are uninhabitable. Jordan says one person was taken to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
Next time I need a power nap, I hope the weather is calmer. And you know what? I feel like I DID miss something!
