No Hunting for Snow this October

Basically I am a little worried.

When this year started, weather forcasters called for a horrendous hurricane year for the U.S., specifically the eastern U.S. Some went on to say that we would get the equivalent of two Katrinas.

Even though hurricane hasn’t officially ended, it looks like their predictions will fizzle out in the Atlantic like the past 4 hurricanes and tropical storms.

What worries me? These same forcasters are predicting a mild winter. The same day Ski Stations are opening up earlier than they ever have in the west, and two feet of snow has been dumped in the Great Lakes region, Detroit setting a record for it’s earliest snow, passing a mark set in 1909. In Buffalo, 3 people have died, accidents related to the snow.  A 105- mile stretch of the New York State Thruway was closed for hours, and food and water had to be delivered by snowmobile to stranded motorists.

Why else am I worried? I am headed off close to the region as of tomorrow morning.

And an hour north all we got was some teaser snow. Enough to make the windshield wipers necessary but not enough to stick to the ground. Thank god for that one!

“Weather Men” might have some degree of accuracy in predicting “tomorrows” weather. I don’t even know why they attempt “Next Year’s”. They usually end up making theirself look silly!
