MySpace – So Yesterday?
According to an article I read today in the Washington Post, MySpace is so last year.
Many teens have moved on to something else, feeling they have grown out of it. Another set of reasons to jump ship were that it was a place for creeps to prey on teens, and that parents and teachers were watching their accounts closely. As a parent, I can relate to that.
However, reading of its decline has taken me by surprise. In my daily life, my teenagers use it, and so do all their friends. It has been talked about from the pulpit in my church, and I can even go into a clothing store and see a t-shirt about MySpace, with a slogan that is supposed to be humorous, "MySpace ruined my life."
In my email weekly now, I receive a list of top keywords for google, and MySpace is on there several times over, and all in the top 20. So, while there are some parents and people who wish MySpace would just go away, there are suggestions out there that make this article hard to believe.

The article does say, "MySpace said it hopes to earn a permanent place in its users’ lives, becoming as essential as e-mail and cellphones."
I can see that as a possibility.
The article ends with an interesting thought:
"Over time, people are going to get sick of talking to people on the computer," he said. "I just think people will want to spend more time with each other — without the wall of technology."
Amen to that, but thank heavens we have technology to keep us close to our loved ones, to those far away.

Don’t have a myspace it’s a teen place to me. Had to giggle at that shirt “You look better on myspace”.
But I do find not sure about you, but as time goes by I have whittled down the amount of people I talk to. Now for me it’s a case of quality not quantity on my list.
