Through the years, unless I had to go out and work on this day, I avoided leaving the cozy comfort of my house. This year was different, as Laura was armed with gift cards and birthday money and wanted to go to the mall.

So, I braved traffic, crowded parking lots, long lines, and the multitude and took Laura and her friend shopping. I also got an early start on my Christmas shopping.

Oh well, I got to see Santa.  And he got to see me.

He didn’t seem to mind that I was taking his picture.
