What is the “object” of faith here spoken of? Does it mean *anything* we hope for?
I doubt it, Beth.
Since Augustine of Hippo was one of the most important figures in the development of Western Christianity, I don’t think he had anything like the “Name it and Claim it” people of today.
Also the verse from the Bible surely wasn’t about that either.
This is one of the ‘mysteries of faith’. Only searching through diligent study will help you to find the answer.
