New Toy
My desktop PC is 5 years old. It’s not running 100%, but it has been very good to me and I still love it.
However, since a lot of what I do with running my sites, web & graphic design, homeschooling, photography, communications involves my computer, I felt it was time to get a new one before the old one potentially dies on me.
Since these days they make laptops as powerful as desktops, I decided to get a laptop.

If you don’t mind me asking, how much did that set you back? I’m thinking it’s getting time for me to get myself a new laptop – I’ve had this one for about 4 or 5 years now, and while it’s still useful, I think I just need more power under the hood.
Whoa – I’m jealous! That is one nice laptop. It even has a built in 10-key in the keyboard (always nice for us CPA-types). You will love the 3 GB of memory for multi-media stuff. I’ve been thinking about upgrading from a 1 GB desktop but I’m going to wait a bit longer.
Good system.
HP currently has the best bang for the buck with laptops, with quality components and good design and features.
I’ve been running an HP DV1000 for 2-1/2 years and my dad and youngest brother both bought new ones a month ago now.
Enjoy the game
Congratulations on the new laptop! I’m surprised though. I thought a web design/graphics guru like you would be in the Mac family?
congratulations! You have worked hard and I am happy for you.
Hi Barb,
Excellent choice. Did you by chance ask the sales person if you could test it by standing on it? They usually seem to like that.

my boyfriend would like to buy a new one too…. but when he compares the prices in other countries and here…. Here it is maybe two times more than in other countries…
Few months ago I bought a new laptop too and there is one think I maybe would never do again: buy a pc with windows. Linux, for example, is so much better. No antivirus programs, no firewalls and anti spy wares….
Do you feel POWERFUL?!!
Nice,you deserve it.
