Technically, it’s not the end of summer, but school has begun for most, and signals the end of summer vacation. With that in mind, mom and I told the kids to invite their friends for a party. After days of preparation, the party day started for me at 6 AM,...
In the past, I have taken a lot of teasing from my friends who spent summers going east with their families to Ocean City, and my family always went west to visit family in the mountains of West Virginia and Virginia. So when I finally got to experience Ocean City, they...
Often when I look back to raising little ones, I remember the WORK; the late night feedings, the endless diapers, the colic, and the crying. Not that I didn’t enjoy those times, I sure did. The work put into it though, sure stands out in my mind as well. Thank...
Still moving my digital artwork from the 4images gallery that was elsewhere in this site and installing them on this blog. I am sure I have dozens more loaded on one of my externals, but on my website I only posted those I liked best. I will add them here...
Finally after years using the program, Terragen to became a full program with new additions like 3D clouds, rocks, trees, plants, planets, and so many add ons. The one thing I found is that it was harder to operate, and the water that was once so easy to understand now...
Every once in a while I would tell Terragen to make the settings for a wide width horizontal image, and I felt that the panoramic was a pleasant change from the default size in the program.
The home, at 8111 Traverse Street, a few blocks from Detroit City Airport, was the nicest house on the block when it sold for $65,000 in November 2006. Foreclosure hit. It become run down and vandalized. The price lowered to one dollar….and it STILL took 19 days for it to...
When I first started Terragens, I got a lot of compliments from my peers on my atmospheres. I felt they were the easiest to work out in version .09. The other thing that I think they took notice of was how I angled the camera for the best composition (my...
Moving the old Terragens to this blog, I found this section called “Simplistic but Lovely Terragens” but looking at them now not sure why they were called that. Was I going for minimalism? Where some might be, not all are. However you call them, here is the next set of...
Miranda is going to win awards soon for her photography. See this one of Silas. She calls it “Prayers”
This set of Terragens from the program’s early stages (.09) were given atmospheres I felt were rather dramatic, with most of the drama in the skies, but some of the drama fell to the landscape lighting and shadows too.
Silas is now 10 months old! He is becoming so big!
Sometimes with the Terragen program, after the render, I would put the image into a graphics program and give it some post work. Sometimes the actual render had an atmosphere of something not real, something make believe, fantasy images, if you will.
Still posting old renders of Terragen from ages ago. This was when the program was in its early stages, and I found that snow scenes were often the easiest to create.
So, once upon a time I used to use a landscape creation rendering program called Terragen. In the future, if money and time allows, I’d love to try it again. It is a great community of people as well. When I used Terragen, they didn’t even have a version 1....
Almost every time I take a bath, I take with me some light reading. For the past week that has been Modern Spanish Grammar by Juan Kattán-Ibarra. Doesn’t sound like light reading? Well I have surprised myself in how much I remember! Grammar was always a weak point for me...
I blogged some time ago about my postcard collection . I love to travel and see new places, I also love to get postcards from friends. John sent me some more from Australia: And Anna just brought me some from Maine: I also have added some more, Delaware being a...
I am sure I need to repent for something after what we prepared and ate today. A while ago, my Sister of Support gave me a box of Cinnamon Bun mix. First thing Laura and I noticed was the box: What caught our attention was the top resembled a cootie...
“Outings are so much more fun when we can savor them through the children’s eyes.”Lawana Blackwell, The Courtship of the Vicar’s Daughter, 1998 Miranda posted this image of Enric and Silas from a recent outing they had. I thought some might like to see how Silas is growing.
A line from Gilmore Girls show to day reminded me of this wonderful mime act, I used to watch years ago on the Mac Davis Show. They look positively robotic on the following clip: Enjoy!
