New Road Dangers
As if the fatalities on the roads in the U.S. weren’t scary enough, we have a new danger…Text Messaging.
One recent case? A twenty-five year old man driving 80 miles per hour in the wrong lane was pulled over by a sherriff’s deputy. The “reason” the man gave? He was texting.
According to the Department of Public Safety, distractions such as texting or talking on cell phones were involved in at least 15 percent of all fatal crashes from 2005 to 2007.
This so reminds me of my driver’s education class where they were always telling us, “Get the big picture, watch out for the other guy, drive defensively.”
Good advice, even more so today.
