ObamaMessiah

You’ve likely already seen the video where young children are gathered to sing praises to Obama, the one who is ‘going to change the world.’ I already said in a comment, even if you replaced Obama’s name with someone I actually LIKED, it still would be creepy and weird. Who sings songs to Politicians? I mean, besides the Hitler video I posted on another post? Well that’s where it’s different. Obama seems to be more than … Read entire article »

ACORN: Vote Early, Vote Often?

In Vegas: State authorities on Tuesday raided an organization that registers low-income people to vote, alleging that its canvassers falsified forms with bogus names, fake addresses or famous personalities. The secretary of state’s office launched an investigation after noticing that names did not match addresses and that most members of the Dallas Cowboys appeared to be registering in Nevada to vote in November’s general election. “Some of these (forms) were facially fraudulent; we basically had the starting lineup for the Dallas Cowboys,” Secretary of State Ross Miller said. “Tony Romo is not registered to vote in Nevada. Anyone trying to pose as Terrell Owens won’t be able to cast a ballot.” Agents with the secretary of state and state attorney general offices served a search warrant on the headquarters of the Association of … Read entire article »

Creative Economy Recovery Plan

This was forwarded to me and if it works or not, we’ll likely never know! The Birk Economic Recovery Plan I’m against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG. Instead, I’m in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a We Deserve It Dividend. To make the math simple, let’s assume there are 200,000,000 bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+. Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up.. So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billion that equals $425,000.00. My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a We Deserve It Dividend. Of course, it would NOT be tax free. So let’s assume a tax rate of 30%. Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in … Read entire article »

Bailout Defeated

The House on Monday defeated a $700 billion emergency “rescue”. I am not surprised. In fact, to me it never looked like a good idea. On the up side, oil dropped $10 a barrel. The Republicans are blaming the defeat on a Pelosi pre-vote speech and an Obama’s indifferent attitude and being very little involved. The Democrats said something different, “The Republicans killed this,” said House Financial Services Committee Chairman, Barney Frank. Democrats noted that a majority of Republicans had opposed the bill, while a majority of Democrats supported it. Democrats voted 140 to 95 in favor of the legislation, while just 65 Republicans backed the bill and 133 opposed it. [That means 95 democrats voted against it too]. The American people say, “Yay-We didn’t want it and our representatives heard us!” I decided to look … Read entire article »

Obama Hypocrisy

We are all tired of the election and I can’t wish to blog about other things, but Obama SCARES me, and since the media doesn’t do its job, it is up to the rest of us. Obama hypocrisy quite frankly is making me ill. A few examples: What he says: “You got these $10,000-a-plate dinners and Golden Circles Clubs. I think when the average voter looks at that, they rightly feel they’re locked out of the process. They can’t attend a $10,000 breakfast and they know that those who can are going to get the kind of access they can’t imagine.” (Wikiquote) What he does: July 2 – Warren Buffett, the chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway–who with his daughter Susan early on spotted presumptive Democratic nominee Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) as a comer– … Read entire article »

Obama, Terrorist Bill Ayers, and Voter Fraud Connection

Just this week, the Wall Street Journal’s Stanley Kurtz ran a HUGE exposé on the long relationship between Obama and Ayers, entitled “Obama and Ayers Pushed Radicalism On Schools” — giving details about what they did together, and revealing to the nation what we’ve been saying all along William Charles Ayers and Barack Obama have been friends for decades. This is a man who has admitted to BOMBING THE PENTAGON — and has never expressed one ounce of regret for his actions. Ayers is a terrorist — and Obama is his friend and political student. Obama has tried to dismiss Ayers as just “a guy who lives in my neighborhood,” and “not somebody who I exchange ideas with on a regular basis.” Yet documents … Read entire article »

Stewards and Managers

I was watching Neil Cavuto today and he had a guest on his show named Larry Winget. Neil was asking Larry about the Federal Rescue of Wall Street. Larry was quick to remind him it was not a rescue, it was definately a bailout, and that it was irresponsible to reward bad behavior, which is exactly what we’re doing by rushing to put money into something where no one goes punished or investigated. He also expressed concern over the rush of this bill. Later, Cavuto interviewed Ted Nugent. Ted Nugent had stronger words about this bailout, “Uncle Sam is a pig and I wouldn’t trust congress-Fedzilla- to take care of my animals.” Later in the show, Ben Stein declared whether we bailout now or later, he called for drastic legal prosecution for those at fault. Windshield Wiper

Right off the heels of teaching Laura about patents in our government class, a new movie is announced on TV  about the invention of the intermittent windshield wiper that looks like it’s worth seeing called, Flash of Genius. Which got me to wondering who invented the FIRST windshield wiper? A woman! Mary Anderson! Mary Anderson was granted her first patent for a window cleaning device in November of 1903. Her invention could clean snow, rain, or sleet from a windshield by using a handle inside the car. Her goal was to improve driver vision during stormy weather - Mary Anderson invented the windshield wiper. That wasn’t the only thing women had going regarding new inventions with cars. The automobile gave women ample opportunity for invention. In 1923, of the 345 inventions listed under “Transportation” in … Read entire article »

Regulation

I talked with someone recently, an Obama supporter,  who said that the reason this country is in the financial shape it is in was because of lack of regulation. I don’t think he was aware of John McCain was one of the three cosponsors of S.190, the bill that would have averted this mess. I am not sure he is also aware many of the senators who protected Fannie and Freddie, including Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Christopher Dodd, have received a lot of financial support from them over the years. Throughout his political career, Obama has gotten more than $125,000 in campaign contributions from employees and political action committees of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, second only to Dodd, the Senate Banking Committee chairman, who received more than $165,000. Clinton, the 12th-ranked recipient … Read entire article »

Straight Out Propagandists

CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, New York Times… You know who they are, and just to name a few. The mainstream media have gone over the line and are now straight out propagandists for the Obama campaign. While they have been liberal and blinkered in their worldview for decades, in 2007-08 for the first time, the major media are consciously covering for one candidate for president and consciously knifing the other. This is no longer journalism — it is simply propaganda. We should turn them off, cancel our subscriptions, and send a message – no more! No matter how many times Obama messes up, they look the other way and invent something on Palin or scurry to find something on McCain. Obama stutters through his own thoughts , it seems to get cut out. Contradictions on … Read entire article »

Car Ride Music

When John arrives from Australia, we will be going to visit a lot of places around the area. I figured I should put some music on CD’s for us to listen to that we both like. A few weeks ago I asked him did he have any requests. He said, “How about British Invasion songs of the 60’s?” Well, we both figured this could drive my children a little nuts and I got some music together. Later, he also threw in the idea of some Australian singers. Most I had never heard of. In the midst of that, we thought of some other tunes we’d like to hear while driving around the Maryland countryside…  1. B.B. King – Is You Is Or Is You Ain’t My Baby? (3:21) 2. B.B. EU Wipes England Off Map

The new European plan splits England into three zones that are joined with areas in other countries. The "Manche" region covers part of southern England and northern France while the Atlantic region includes western parts of England, Portugal, Spain and Wales. The North Sea region includes eastern England, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands and parts of Germany. Bailout – Solution or Bandaid

Just when it looks more complicated than I can grasp, a voice of reason arrives to my inbox. I just couldn’t get my hands on what was right – for our government to bailout this Wall Street crisis before it gets to Main street or do we just let it go? Newt Gingrich seems to be a reasonable voice in this. This is what arrived to my inbox: One of the first things he suggests is … Read entire article »

Democrats Write $500 Billion Spending Bill, In Secret

The legislation is coming together in a remarkably secretive process in which decisions are concentrated in the hands of just a few lawmakers such as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Appropriations Committee Chairman David Obey, D-Wis. The unusual process means thousands of lawmakers’ pet projects of the very sort blasted by GOP presidential nominee John McCain on the campaign trail would escape scrutiny, including up to $5 billion worth of such “earmarks” in the defense budget alone. Ignoring George Obama

I have no idea if this is a story or not. When you hear of Barack Obama being the next Messiah and how compassionate he is and how much integrity he has, you do have to wonder about this, considering the life of his half brother, George. Here are the facts about George Obama. He’s in his twenties. He lives in a slum in a hut. He wants to become a mechanic but doesn’t have the money. He reports that he gets by on a dollar a month. He met George Obama in 2006 for a few minutes and said it was like talking to a “total stranger.” He said when people notice he has the same name as Barack Obama, he denies they are related because he is “ashamed.” The … Read entire article »

Bailout

Bush urged lawmakers in Washington on Monday to act quickly on the bailout bill and to resist the temptation to add provisions that, he said, “would undermine the effectiveness of the plan.” But it is becoming clear that Democrats have their own ideas about what should be in the plan, who should be helped and who should not. Senate Democrats on Monday put forward their version of the rescue plan, including a bold addition aimed at helping homeowners at risk of foreclosure. How can we put any trust in the people voting for this bailout when they themselves invested in what they’re bailing out? Pelosi, in her most recent financial disclosure form, reported that her husband owned between $250,000 and $500,000 of stock in AIG, which ceded majority control to the U.S. government this week … Read entire article »

My Weekend Visits

I spent the weekend basically sick in bed, but thanks to the mobility of a laptop I was connected and entertained and informed somewhat. This is where the net took me: You Tube – Democratic Senator defends Governor Palin This was rather funny. On a radio talk show, they tried with all their might to get a Democrat Congressman from Alaska to say something negative about Palin’s personal and professional life – thinking that he would elaborate with the Democrats that are viciously telling lies. He just wouldn’t. He admitted that he didn’t agree with her on the issues but could not go along with them with the lies they wanted to talk about. Pelosi Pork And Big Oil

While we consider big Oil and the price of gas (petrol)… Oh by the way, did you know that big oil companies DON’T control the majority of the oil, about 70 – 90% is owned by, guess what. GOVERNMENTS, depending how you count it. Now it all starts to make sense: Yet Big Oil is pretty small next to the industry’s true giants: the national oil companies (NOCs) owned or controlled by the governments of oil-rich countries, which manage over 90% of the world’s oil, depending on how you count. Of the 20 biggest oil firms, in terms of reserves of oil and gas, 16 are NOCs. Saudi Aramco, the biggest, has more than ten times the reserves that Exxon does. Those with misgivings about oil—that its price is too high, that reserves are … Read entire article »

Greed and Greenspan

“A Native American grandfather talking to his young grandson tells the boy he has two wolves inside of him struggling with each other. The first is the wolf of peace, love and kindness. The other wolf is fear, greed and hatred. “Which wolf will win, grandfather?” asks the young boy. “Whichever one I feed,” is the reply.” Native American Proverb Years ago, we tried to look for a house, only to find no one would give us a loan. Apparently we had too many outstanding debts to the ratio of savings. Only a few years after that, and even though our financial situation wasn’t much better, we practically could write our own loan. For some magical reason every bank was willing to loan us money to buy a house. What changed?  We had … Read entire article »

Stall Withdrawl

I read about it first on the New York Post, but now it’s on Fox News and The American Spectator and several other news agencies.  Apparently the man who feels we’re in a wrong war for the wrong reasons and need a quick withdrawl from Iraq, said something different in July. With three other witnesses in the room, Barack Obama during his July visit to Baghdad demanded that Iraq not negotiate with the Bush Administration on the withdrawal of American troops. Instead, he asked that they delay such negotiations until after the presidential handover at the end of January. Though Obama claims the US presence is “illegal,” he suddenly remembered that Americans troops were in Iraq within the legal framework of a UN mandate. His advice was that, rather than reach an … Read entire article »

Financial Crisis

I am trying real hard to understand Obama’s latest declaration: “…we are in the most serious financial crisis since the Great Depression.” And to be honest, after listening to news yesterday and today, things aren’t looking too hot. I saw some headlines calling it the “Nightmare on Wall Street.” Here is my confusion, while Obama says he cares about people in general and this country, his half brother is still living in a shantytown, in poverty. My other point of confusion is if we’re in financial crisis, where are all the campaign dollars coming from??? Today he will host a dinner in Beverly Hills — costing attendees $28,500 dollars each! Hundreds of high rollers, including some of the biggest executives in film, television and music, will munch gourmet chow and hang out with the candidate. Google Offshore

Google is considering taking its supercomputers on barges offshore. They would use wave power to cool and give electricity to their computers. Brilliant. Something tells me that isn’t the only benefit though, as offshore would mean not paying propery taxes. Google isn’t the only internet company looking for solutions and coming up with some odd locations for their data centers. The supercomputers housed in the data centres, which can be the size of football pitches, use massive amounts of electricity to ensure they do not overheat. As a result the internet is not very green. Data centres consumed 1 per cent of the world’s electricity in 2005. By 2020 the carbon footprint of the computers that run the internet will be larger than that of air travel, a recent study by McKinsey, a consultancy firm, … Read entire article »
