A Tale of Two Kinds of POW’s

I haven’t given a lot of attention to the so named Guantanamo 4 being released in Bermuda, I will admit. However, I just couldn’t help a passing thought… no matter how you feel about Guantanamo, the handling of the aftermath of 911, John McCain, or President Bush, I couldn’t help but notice a real difference between these Prisoners.

John McCain

Briefly, the short version of McCain’s imprisonment: He was subjected to rope bindings and repeated beatings every two hours, at the same time as he was suffering from dysentery. Further injuries led to the beginning of a suicide attempt, stopped by guards. McCain subsequently received two to three beatings weekly because of his continued refusal to sign additional statements. (Not pictured here are the wounds covering his body).
