The Race Card
I just felt the need to say it.
A DIFFERENCE OF OPINION DOESN’T MAKE A PERSON A RACIST!
I would agree with Alan Keyes, (I used to listen to his radio show in Baltimore) a black man, and as far as I know, more black than Obama. In fact, I have voted for Alan Keyes in a primary election. I don’t agree with Obama’s policies, practically none of them. This doesn’t make me a racist.
Now, these days, everywhere I go, in the mall, a vacation spot, the airport, just about anywhere you can name, there are shirts, stickers, all promoting our President, a liberal. I have no problem with that, I just don’t buy the items, as I don’t agree with liberal policies.
I rarely see, except online, pro-conservative items to purchase, and I guess a business person decided it was time to have a conservative Kiosk in the mall. The mall was happy to have their business…until someone played the race card.
At the end of July, Free Market Warrior will not be allowed at Concord Mills Mall. The kiosk chain’s owner shared e-mail correspondence with NewsChannel 36 that explains that the mall management has decided that the items sold are not “neutral” enough. The lease will be allowed to expire July 31, 2009 without an option to renew.
At least one passerby found them racist and bigoted, and took time to tell the mall in a letter and a letter to the editor of the Charlotte Observer.
All through Obama’s campaign, if someone didn’t agree with his policies, they were immediately called a racist.
Last night the President replied to a question regarding an arrest of black Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. Apparently the man was breaking into his own home. Sgt. James Crowley, who is a police academy expert on racial profiling, responded to Gates’ home near Harvard University last week to investigate a report of a burglary and demanded Gates show him identification. Police say Gates at first refused and accused the officer of racism.
THE MAN WAS DOING HIS JOB.
So the officer does his job, he answers the call, and the person didn’t cooperate. You just can’t yell and scream and act disorderly to the police. It just isn’t done without reprocussions, I don’t care what color you are.
So to make things even worse. Obama spouts out the “S” word about it, saying this police acted “Stupidly”.
I wish there was a video to see which were acting “stupidly”.
Rightly, the Police Union is condemning Obama’s comments.
People who know Crowley were skeptical or outright dismissive of allegations of racism. A prominent defense lawyer, a neighbor of Crowley’s, his union, and fellow officers described him yesterday as a respected, and respectful, officer who performs his job well and has led his colleagues in diversity training.“
He’s evenhanded and, in the cases I’ve had with him, he’s been very much in control and very professional,’’ said Joseph W. Monahan III, a criminal defense lawyer in Cambridge and former Middlesex County prosecutor.
HIS JOB. He did his job. Mr. President, you weren’t there. You didn’t see what happened. So, HOW can you even take a side and call one side stupid?
Stop playing the race card. It’s wearing thin. Even Bill Cosby is shocked at Obama’s statement.
