Don’t Interfere with Our Sexual Mores

Don’t Interfere with Our Sexual Mores

Once the late Julian Huxley, a leader among Darwinists, was asked on the Merv Griffin show, ‘Why do people believe in evolution?” Huxley honestly answered, “The reason we accepted Darwinism even without proof, is because we didn’t want God to interfere with our sexual mores.” According to I Don’t Have Enough Faith to Be an Atheist: By admitting God, Darwinists would be admitting that they are not the highest authority when it comes to truth. Currently, in this … Read entire article »

Wall Street Loves the Democrats

Most people think of the financial “Rich” behind Republicans only. I never understood this logic nor did it jive with say, the money behind the Kennedy’s, Bloombergs, Kerry’s, Jay Rockefellers, and Warner’s-  as well they sure do hang around a lot of glitzy and rich celebrities. Republicans, in the past, like Ronald Reagan, have been behind business that helps the country to thrive and hire people. These days, I think perhaps they are all in cahoots together, and it is going to depend on us regular folk, if we can, to find candidates that support US, not just Wall Street. Ann Coulter on the other hand feels that Wall Street is solidly behind the Democrats. She writes: Wall Street, far from being a stronghold of “rich Republicans” and “laissez-faire capitalists,” is actually dominated … Read entire article »

I called Best Buy today regarding the status on the repair of my laptop. (grrrr…don’t get me started, it’s been over two weeks now). Anyhow, I listened to my options and pushed “4″ for the Geek Squad. Them: Hello, Geek Squad. Me: Hi, I am calling about the status on the repair of my laptop. Them: Sorry Ma’am, I can’t look that up for you, all our systems are down. We crashed. Me: But….but…you’re the Geek Squad. Them: (Laughing) Me: Don’t you … Read entire article »

Who Serves Who

History shows us that in the past children have been indoctrinated in the classrooms to sing praises to their leaders. They sang to Hitler, Stalin, they sing to the dictator of North Korea. You can argue if you like, if they were good leaders to sing praises to or not. But here in the United States our leaders are elected to serve US. We are not here to serve them! Or is that changing? The following video is confirmed to be an actual video during a school classroom in New Jersey of children singing the praises of Obama. You can argue if he is a good leader or not, what is so wrong about this is singing his praises. He hasn’t been in office long enough to even accomplish anything praiseworthy! … Read entire article »

It’s All About Me

Is our president a narcissist? A  news article is suggesting that he is, or perhaps Obama is just saying it himself. In just 41 speeches so far this year, not including this week’s big speech at the United Nations, Obama has talked about himself nearly 1,200 times – 1,198 to be exact. (That breaks down to 1,121 “I”s and just 77 “me”s.) And that just includes 34 weekly addresses and his seven major speeches. Count the hundreds of other public speeches and he’d be off the charts. Speaking of Acorn

Speaking of Acorn

I know there is a lot of talk about ACORN these days, and I almost didn’t notice the ABUNDANCE of acorns that are falling from our trees. Not only are they early and plentiful, they are BIG. The mere girth of these things are making awful sounds when they fall and hit the pool, the roof, and the shed. My first thought was ‘is this a sign of a horrible winter to come?’ Then I happened to … Read entire article »

Mitt Romney, Unloaded

Mitt Romney unloaded a speech this weekend at the Voters Value Summit,  that was very good. He was not my candidate in 2008, but I have to admit that he speaks very frankly here. Some highlights are: “A year ago, there were quite a few people who were ready to write off this [conservative]  movement. They were enthralled by Barack Obama’s promise of near-Biblical transformations. Their legs were tingling.” He spoke majestically, framed by Greek columns. Well, he can still spin a speech, but he can’t spin his record. I’ll bet you never dreamed you’d look back at Jimmy Carter as the good old days.” “We know that America has always endured a chorus of critics, —people who claim that every ill, every failure in the world is America’s fault.  But it has … Read entire article »

Baltimore Colts 1968 and 1970

Today we had to close up the pool for the winter. For some reason, I found myself in the building and in an old box in the corner where my dad kept rusty old tools, I found a few big envelopes. Curious, I opened them and found two group photos of the Baltimore Colts, years 1968 and 1970, as well a signed photo of Johnny Unitas holding a Royal Crown Cola, and lastly, a Christmas … Read entire article »

Martin Luther King Was a Republican

The title of this post surprised me at first. I don’t recall ever being taught MLK’s party affiliation in school. No doubt they don’t teach it now. To make sure, I checked and re-checked. According to Human Events: In that era, almost all black Americans were Republicans. Why? From its founding in 1854 as the anti-slavery party until today, the Republican Party has championed freedom and civil rights for blacks. It was the Democrats who fought to keep blacks in slavery and passed the discriminatory Black Codes and Jim Crow laws. The Democrats started the Ku Klux Klan to lynch and terrorize blacks. The Democrats fought to prevent the passage of every civil rights law beginning with the civil rights laws of the 1860s, and continuing with the civil rights laws of the … Read entire article »

You Lie?

In his speech to Congress, President Obama cited an Illinois man who lost his insurance during chemotherapy for his failure to report gallstones that he didn’t even know about. Obama said that the man died as a result of this cancellation of his insurance. Whether Obama told a lie, or got the story wrong innocently, either way, it doesn’t look good, does it?  Either he can’t tell the truth or he can’t get the story straight. From the Wall Street Journal President Barack Obama, seeking to make a case for health-insurance regulation, told a poignant story to a joint session of Congress last week. An Illinois man getting chemotherapy was dropped from his insurance plan when his insurer discovered an unreported gallstone the patient hadn’t known about. “They delayed his treatment, and he died … Read entire article »

It’s Not Racism

Between millions showing up to tea parties expressing doubt and opposition to Obama’s policies and Wilson’s outburst of  “You lie!”, there is a lot of disapproval of Obama and his policies going on. I personally do not agree with most of Obama’s policies, and it has NOTHING to do with the color of his skin. Unfortunately we have Jimmy Carter saying things like,   “an act “based on racism. … There is an inherent feeling among many in this country that an African-American should not be president.”   Then he added to NBC,  “I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man, that he’s African-American.” (It was really good of Carter to remind us though, why he … Read entire article »

Apathy

“By far the most dangerous foe we have to fight is apathy – indifference from whatever cause, not from a lack of knowledge, but from carelessness, from absorption in other pursuits, from a contempt bred of self satisfaction. ” -Sir William Osler (1849 –1919) – Canadian physician. What a great quote. I do believe that is one of our biggest problems in the world today, indifference. I might disagree though, with the lack of knowledge.  These days, even though the information is readily available, so many people do not access it, such as the following video. A poll surveyed over 500 self-professed Obama voters and has an MOE of 4.4%, with 55% having a college degree and over 90% having a high-school diploma.  It asked 12 multiple-choice questions; only 2.4% got … Read entire article »

Jon Stewart Blasts Mainstream Media

If you have been paying attention at all, you know that basically a couple of amateurs went undercover and exposed a lot of dirt on ACORN, to the point that the House has voted to defund the organization. Nevermind that it is already well known that ACORN engaged in conspiracy to get Democrats elected by any means necessary, using registration drives partially funded by taxpayers and the Obama campaign to enroll nonexistent and ineligible voters. Its members have been indicted for voter fraud in Nevada and Florida. So when a conservative blogger and his assistant, posing as a pimp and prostitute, got ACORN workers on tape to advise them on setting up a  house for prostitution of young and underage girls, Jon Stewart who only “plays” at the news, gets a … Read entire article »

Our Candy Comes from Mexico

Our Candy Comes from Mexico

These days, the odds are good that the candy we buy comes from Mexico. From jellied hearts to chocolates, Mexico’s candy exports to the United States have more than doubled since 2002 as cheaper labor and sugar draw U.S. candy-makers south of the border. The latest candy company, Hershey’s. Why is that? Many of them cited high U.S. sugar prices, which have been propped up for decades by government subsidies. Oh, government! One Light Bulb at a Time

(Sent to me in an email) A physics teacher in high school, once told the students that while one grasshopper on the railroad tracks wouldn’t slow a train very much, a billion of them would . With that thought in mind, read the following as in our current economic situation, every little thing we buy or do affects someone else – even their job. My grandson likes Hershey’s candy . I noticed, though, that it is marked made in Mexico now. I do not buy it any more. My favorite toothpaste Colgate is made in Mexico now. I have switched to Crest. You have to read the labels on everything. This past weekend I was at Kroger. (Can be true for any store.) I needed 60W light bulbs and Bounce dryer sheets. Help For Scrambled Brains

…and broken bones too! Both can be healed with a new nanoparticle-infused hydrogel. Developed by scientists from Clemson University, the gel creates new blood vessels and later encourages the body’s own stem cells to replace dead bone or brain cells. Twelve weeks after a devastating brain injury some test rats had recovered almost all of their original muscle and sensory functions. “The goal of this project is to encourage the neurological regeneration of damaged tissue,” said Ning Zhang, a Clemson University scientist developing the hydrogel. “The functions controlled by the damaged regions will be lost permanently if not restored.” More on this gel in Discovery News HERE … Read entire article »

Fact Check

Obama practically scowled at what he said were myths regarding his health care plan during his speech recently.  However, the Associated Press decided to match what he said with the FACTS.  Now I know some people don’t like to know those pesky facts and truths, but here it goes anyway: OBAMA: “I will not sign a plan that adds one dime to our deficits either now or in the future. Period.” THE FACTS: Though there’s no final plan yet, the White House and congressional Democrats already have shown they’re ready to skirt the no-new-deficits pledge. House Democrats offered a bill that the Congressional Budget Office said would add $220 billion to the deficit over 10 years. But Democrats and Obama administration officials claimed the bill actually was deficit-neutral. They said they simply didn’t have … Read entire article »

9/12/09 Protest at Washington D.C.

There seems to be an inconsistency in reporting how many people were at yesterday’s protest. I hate when that happens! This country just can’t COUNT! I’ve read thousands, tens of thousands, and   U.K. Newspaper said Two Million Demonstrators waved U.S. flags and held signs reading “Go Green Recycle Congress” and “I’m Not Your ATM.” Men wore colonial costumes as they listened to speakers who warned of “judgment day” – Election Day 2010. Richard Brigle, 57, a Vietnam War veteran and former Teamster, came from Michigan. He said health care needs to be reformed – but not according to President Barack Obama’s plan. Republicans DO Have a Plan

Did you know that Republicans have 30+ bills for Health Care reform that have had no acknowledgment from the Obama Administration? When Rep. Joe Wilson shouted out  “You lie!” during Obama’s recent address to Congress, no doubt it’s from the frustration of having ideas ignored while Obama stood there, in front of God, the American people and congress and said, “”My door is always open.” From the Washington Examiner: “We knew the president would at some point say something like, ‘and the other side has no ideas,’ ” Price says. So Price and his Republican colleagues brought with them copies of the more than 30 health care reform bills they have proposed in the House this year. Obama didn’t directly accuse Republicans of not having a plan. But he did say he would … Read entire article »
