According to Mort Zuckerman (who apparently is a media mogul, wrote one of Obama’s speeches), a year and a half ago, Obama was walking on water, and these days, he is barely treading water.
The hope that fired up the election of Barack Obama has flickered out, leaving a national mood of despair and disappointment. Americans are dispirited over how wrong things are and uncertain they can be made right again. Hope may have been a quick breakfast, but it has proved a poor supper. A year and a half ago Obama was walking on water. Today he is barely treading water. Then, his soaring rhetoric enraptured the nation. Today, his speeches cannot lift him past a 45 percent approval rating.
There are so many who don’t agree with Obama’s policies, and Obama doesn’t care. His agenda is the only thing he cares about, and representative government is all but gone. This angers people, this CONCERNS citizens.
Because of that, people have united. Formed tea parties. They have assembled peacefully and spoke their minds. Obama and company at the very first labled them “racists”. Racist is a serious accusation. The tea parties only crime is that they don’t agree with the sitting president. The best Obama can do is dig out the race card. Lame.
Mr Obama’s approval ratings have continued to fall, and now hover at dangerously close to 40 per cent according an ABC-Washington Post poll published on Tuesday, the fate of his former colleagues in the Senate looks even worse. Does this make everyone a racist?
Because of this I so identified with the following song by Krista Branch. She is right, Obama pays no attention, these people want accountability, no matter what his skin color is. This administration does consider these people a joke and is quick to create lies about them. Obama does act kingly and pompous. The tea party movement are proud of our roots, our heritage, and they want the old country back.
I Am America
[Verse One]
Pay no attention to the people in the street
Crying out for accountability
Make a joke of what we believe
Say we don’t matter ’cause you disagree
Pretend you’re kings, sit on your throne
Look down your nose at the peasants below
I’ve got some news, we’re taking names
We’re waiting now for the judgment day
[Chorus]
I am America, one voice, united we stand
I am America, one hope to heal our land
There is still work that must be done
I will not rest until we’ve won
I am America
[Verse Two]
You preach your tolerance, but lecture me
Is there no end to your own hypocrisy
Your god is power, you have no shame
Your only interest is political gain
You hide your eyes and refuse to listen
You play your games and abuse the system
You stuff your pockets while Rome is burning
I’ve got a feeling that the tide is turning
[Chorus]
I am America, one voice, united we stand
I am America, one hope to heal our land
I will not give up on this fight
I will not fade into the light, I am America
[Bridge]
You stuff your pockets while Rome is burning
I’ve got a feeling that the tide is turning
[Chorus]
I am America, one voice, united we stand
I am America, one hope to heal our land
[Chorus]
I am America, one voice, united we stand
I am America, one hope to heal our land
I will not give up on this fight
I will not fade into the night, I am America
