Interesting Labor Day.

While Obama seems to be asking for bipartisanship and good will for jobs creation in this country, on Labor Day his Vice President and friend Jimmy Hoffa had some nasty things to say about the opposition. How is that bipartisanship?

Hoffa, the Teamsters president, was warming up a Detroit crowd when he said: “President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let’s take these son of a bi***** out and give America back to an America where we belong.”

He was speaking of the Tea Party. What kind of THUG talk is that? Funny, I thought the Tea Party represented America’s every day working people very well.

Biden, whose mouth has long been a liability for Obama, was at an AFL-CIO rally when he told union members: “You are the only folks keeping the barbarians from the gates…the other side has declared war on labour’s house.”

Well, at least Biden didn’t get vulgar or violent, but really, someone has a different set of ideas than you and that makes them a barbarian? This is good will?

They follow on from Obama’s sensible call in January for “civility” in public discourse and for people to talk “in a way that heals, not a way that wounds”.

My mom used to say, “You are the company you keep.”
