Short Visit to Perth Zoo

I am sure one day soon we will have a long visit to Perth Zoo, but last Saturday, mostly because I was melting in the heat, we kept it a short visit. I stayed most of the time with the birds.

Elegant Parrot (Neophema elegans)

The Crimson Chat (Epthianura tricolor) is a species of small birds found in Australia. This is perhaps a female or a juvenile.

Another Crimson Chat

he Banded Stilt (Cladorhynchus leucocephalus) is a nomadic stilt from Australia. I chose to convert the photo in Black and White.

Another Elegant Parrot photo. It was just sitting there so still.

Another Crimson Chat photo. This was its good side, I captured the other side and there was clearly something not right with its eye.

The Splendid Fairywren (Malurus splendens), also known simply as the Splendid Wren or more colloquially in Western Australia as the Blue Wren, is a passerine bird of the Maluridae family.I have come to believe that the ones in the wild are more still than these in Perth Zoo!

The Red-eared Firetail (Stagonopleura oculata) is a species of estrildid finch found in the forests and coastal thickets of south-western Australia.

The female orangutan has been named Teliti which means to be careful and thorough in Indonesian. This day she was eying up toys and children through the window.

Putra Mas is an elephant from Malaysia, he's 23 years old.

The ghost bats are pretty good at showing off for me whenever I visit to Nocturnal house so far.

The Ghost Bat (Macroderma gigas), also known as the False Vampire Bat is a bat endemic to Australia, named for the extremely thin membrane of its wings that makes it appear ghostly at night.

We arrived just in time for feeding time, this one had a mouse.
