It was a beautiful, hot, sunny day to go to Ocean City…the skies were blue, perfect day to escape to the Beach. Laura had wisely asked Alejandra which places did she want to see most. It’s a good thing to know since sometime you can’t fit all the places you want to see in just one visit. It was a great question. Alejandra answered that she was most interested in Washington D.C. and seeing the Ocean. Having already seen D.C., next on the list was obvious, the ocean!

After a two and half hour drive, and parking the car, the first thing we got to see were the sand sculptures, each with a Biblical message. This one is Noah and the Ark.

Alejandra soon learned what motivates ME to come to Ocean City...with apologies to my mom and husband, who also makes me pancakes, these are the BEST pancakes ever!
Not everyone knows that I cannot make a pancake, those who have tried them can never forget them.

The pier behind them. I told Alejandra when we were there during the hurricane, the waves were as high as the pier. She looked at me as if I were crazy, "Why were you here during the hurricane?"
Now the day was perfection, but the drive home was another matter…
The blue skies soon grew dark, and Alejandra pointed out the window and said, “I don’t like those clouds.”
Soon enough the rains with a lightning show that Laura captured as best she could in a moving car…
We made it through the storm, but apparently the Bay Bridge didn’t fare as well. They had to close it and we were stuck in traffic there for an hour.
We could be happy we had safety in travels and a great day at the beach!

Yes… why were you by the Ocean City pier during the hurricane???
I was taking photos of course! » http://xerraireart.com/Photos/categories.php?cat_id=62
