2010 in Review

2010 in Review 2010 has  been an incredible year. For me, my blog serves me in a way to keep track of personal events, and our family had many this year. January opened with the excitement of Miquel and his band, Embers For Ashes playing at Rams Head in Baltimore. Not long after that, Christmas and New Year's joy and hope turned to sadness as we lost our friend Margie to cancer. Also in January, I also completed  the website for new clients, Severn Gas Pumps. ... Read More

Our Thanksgiving This year for Thanksgiving, ALL of the family was together except Miquel who had to work and Jenny who stayed home. But unlike last year Miranda and Silas were away, as a family, we were all together for at least part of the day. We had a great time, and I think Silas decided he likes Thanksgiving very much. ... Read More

Foul!

Foul! Disclaimer: For the record, I not only am upset when the unfairness is directed the U.S., but also to the other teams and countries represented as well. Unfairness  seems to exist at these events, and if you aren't one of the favorites, you can count on bad officiating. I've been watching World Cups for awhile. Repeatedly what happens to me in the Olympics, also happens in The World Cup. These events just become politics just like everything else, and ... Read More

Census Charade

Posted By Xerraire On Wednesday, May 26th 2010 In News Items | Tags: 2010, census, charade, new york post |
Census Charade This census year, has had a few headlines for 2010. We got ours in the mail, filled it out, apparently missed one question accidentally, received a call on that, answered it, then didn't give it another thought. I mean there were some unsettling mentions in the news regarding hiring people for the census, or if ACORN (the voter fraud kings) was taking it over, and so on. Then today I read this: From the New York Post The worker, Naomi Cohn, told ... Read More

Snowiest Winter

Posted By Xerraire On Wednesday, February 10th 2010 In Personal | Tags: 2010, blizzard, icicles, maryland, Silas |
Snowiest Winter The climate report from the National Weather Service was just posted and the word out of BWI-Marshall airport is that 4″ of snow fell on February 9th, pushing the winter total snowfall to 64.4″, which makes the winter of 2009-’10 the snowiest winter on record for Baltimore.  The old record of 62.5″ didn’t last very long; it was set in the winter of 1995-’96.  Official snow records go back to 1883 (other weather records date back to 1871, but for ... Read More

Ordering Pizza in 2010

Ordering Pizza in 2010 Georgie from Australia sent me this funny, with an Orwellian futuristic feel. ORDERING PIZZA IN 2010 This is so close to what is probably going to be happening in 2010 that we're not sure how funny this really is... Operator: Thank you for calling Pizza Hut. May I have your national ID number? Customer: Hi, I'd like to place an order. Operator: I must have your NIDN first, sir. Customer: My National ID Number, yeah, hold on, eh, it's 6102049998-45-54610. Operator: ... Read More
