The following are 50 economic numbers from 2011 that are almost too crazy to believe....
#1 A staggering 48 percent of all Americans are either considered to be "low income" or are living in poverty.
#2 Approximately 57 percent of all children in the United States are living in homes that are either considered to be "low income" or impoverished.
#3 If the number of Americans that "wanted jobs" was the same today as it was back in ... Read More

Sunday brought Christmas!
We went to church and family came soon after.
I didn't get many photos, perhaps after a few rounds of presents, I was tuckered out. :)

Unfortunately, rain seems to be the story in Maryland this summer.
This is Maryland, specifically Ellicott City, today:
More on the way?

We came through Hurricane Irene ok.
The yard is a mess and so is the pool, but we are just a little tired from being watchful and perhaps a little stressed after a week and a half of weird happenings around here.
Perhaps some rest today and clean-up if the rain stops.
We weren't without some incidents, but most of Maryland is spared. I did hear that 200 roads were closed, many trees were down, and 500,000 were without electricity.

We are at this very minute feeling the affects of Hurricane Irene.
Before it began in earnest, Miranda thought to take the children out. So raincoats, hats, umbrellas were donned, and with how soaked our ground has been, many mushroom discoveries were made.
Then the rain started to pick up along with the winds. So, indoors for lunch, and then what else can you do in a hurricane? Well this nana decided to sit Silas down and help him create his own ... Read More

I am still jittery from the possible tornado that hit us last Friday. Not to mention discouraged and tired from the damage done and the necessary clean-up.
The last thing needed was today's 5.9 earthquake. I know it's not new to Maryland, but it's the first one I ever witnessed. It seemed to last a long time, the whole house really did shake, and my nerves are rattled. I suppose news will be coming in slowly as to the damage done ... Read More
Our family is set to hear a nice message and then join our church in a nice Memorial Day Picnic! Have a blessed day, everyone!

Well Miquel took me to lunch this week, and today, Enric and family brought me a bouquet of flowers, with so many lovely blooms, but sweetest of all, a sunflower! I do love them! We can't grow them here as we don't get much sun with all the trees. So with that, I will just wish all the moms out there a very Happy Mother's Day, using a photo of Enric's flowers and the suggestion of my children and I ... Read More

At one time Spain used to be my second home, and still now I have many loved ones who live there. So that is one reason to keep up with the news, but I do have another reason. Since Obama and Democrat's policies are trying to instill here what Spain already has, I think it's wise to keep a watch and see what happens.
So far, it's not good. I do believe that if Obama had his way totally, we would ... Read More

Now I don't want to sound like I am complaining in this blog post. I mean, as of this writing, I am warm, my house is heated, the electric is purring nicely, I have hot water, and basically everything is running fine.
Today, because of a heavy, wet, and wicked snowstorm, I know so many people who do not have electricity, and it doesn't look like they will until Saturday or Sunday, some 3 days with any.
So, on Facebook, I have ... Read More

The National Inflation Association, who I had never heard of before, had something interesting to say about Obama's State of the Union Speech last night:
President Obama's State of the Union address last night did not make one single mention of inflation, when it is the belief of NIA that massive price inflation (especially food inflation) will become America's top crisis by the end of this calendar year. Obama's speech also failed to mention the Federal Reserve, ... Read More

“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father” (Mark 13:32).
Harold Camping is at it again.
He is predicting the Rapture. Even though Jesus himself didn't know the day or the hour, Harold Camping claims he does.
