One Light Bulb at a Time
(Sent to me in an email) A physics teacher in high school, once told the students that while one grasshopper on the railroad tracks wouldn’t slow a train very much, a billion of them would . With that thought in mind, read the following as in our current economic situation, every little thing we buy or do affects someone else – even their job. My grandson likes Hershey’s candy . I noticed, though, that it is marked made in Mexico now. I do not buy it any more. My favorite toothpaste Colgate is made in Mexico now. I have switched to Crest. You have to read the labels on everything. This past weekend I was at Kroger. (Can be true for any store.) I needed 60W light bulbs and Bounce dryer sheets. I was in the light … Read entire article »

Top Ten Reasons Obamacare is Wrong for America
According to The Heritage Foundation, the Top Ten Reasons Obamacare is Wrong for America: 1. Millions Will Lose Their Current Insurance: President Obama wants Americans to believe they can keep their insurance if they like. Proposed economic incentives, plus a government-run health plan would cause 88.1 million people to see their current employer-sponsored health plan disappear. 2. Your Health Care Coverage Will Probably Change Anyway: Even if you keep your private insurance, eventually most remaining plans will have to conform to new federal benefit standards. Moreover, the necessary plan “upgrades” will undoubtedly cost you more in premiums. 3. The Umpire Is Also the First Baseman: The main argument for a “public option” is that it would increase competition. However, if the federal government creates a healthcare plan that it controls and also sets … Read entire article »

Total Takeover
“Our nation has elected an anti-American left-wing radical if not Communist to be president of the United States,” he warns. “We better begin to plan now for the reality and not for a democratic daydream. The ideological war has reached us at the top of our power structure threatening our very existence from inside.” ~ Hilmar von Campe, who grew up under the Nazis and wrote the book, Defeating the Totalitarian Lie, offering comparisons between Nazi Germany and America today. von Campe continues… It may sound like I am exaggerating or over-dramatizing the situation, but I think that we have a repetition of Hitler’s policy to get total power developing in the United States. Obama’s massive expansion of the federal government will destroy the United States as a world power, make us even … Read entire article »

Bankrupt America
Scary words, but to me and others it’s a reality to face, such as this article by Paul Driessen. White House and Congress enacted a $700-billion financial bailout, followed by an earmark-laden $787-billion “stimulus” law and plans to ladle out $1.6 billion in federal government bonuses in 2009. Then came a $3.5 trillion “red sea” FY 2010 budget, and the prospect of $9.3 trillion in total indebtedness over the coming decade. A March 31 Bloomberg study found that the Treasury Department, Federal Reserve, FDIC and HUD have thus far obligated generations of Americans to $12.8 TRILLION in debt. That’s 90% of our nation’s entire 2008 Gross Domestic Product. It’s more accrued debt than 43 previous administrations combined! But Paul says it’s more than just a debt, there is another element. It’s about “going green”, … Read entire article »

1972
I suppose 1972 was the year I started listening to the radio in earnest, finding songs I liked, and taping them with my very own Panasonic Tape Recorder to listen to songs over and over again! Not sure my parents were very happy about that, but I got a lot of enjoyment from the tape recorder. My dad used to let me use his reel-to-reel as well. Here is a list of the hits of 1972 … Read entire article »
