Birthday Party For Silas

Birthday Party For Silas This year Miranda decided to have Silas's birthday party a little early. Just like last year, it was held at Lake Waterford Park.   Perhaps I should pause here and give the reason for the "dirt" cake: A while back Silas was annoyingly and repeatingly asking for something to eat. His dad, after being very patient with him finally said, "I am going to give you DIRT to eat." This upset Silas somewhat, and after he was told it was a joke, and we all ... Read More

Rubi and Bike and Garden

Posted By Xerraire On Wednesday, August 10th 2011 In Featured, Personal | Tags: bike, garden, miranda, Rubí, Silas |
Rubi and Bike and Garden Today wasn't as hot, humid, and wet as some of the past days have been. I would say that it was a good day to take the children out, but in yesterday's very harsh downpour, it must have been a good day too, as through squeals of laughter, I could hear that Miranda took the children out to jump in rain puddles. (I am too chicken to take photos in the pouring rain). Today I could take photos, and of course ... Read More

Cammy Park Day When Cameron comes over, it usually gets called a "cammy day" in our household. This particular Cammy day, it was nice enough out to go to the park. Since John and I could stroll Rubí, Miranda opted to bike the boys to the park. ... Read More

Back to Kinder Park

Back to Kinder Park With the nice change of weather in the upper 50's, Laura and I decided to go to Kinder Park. The fact that it is technically still winter was still there, with snow from our last blizzards still in scattered places around the park... Because of the winter, not much was "alive" at Kinder today. Some berries... ...some ducks too. Of course, the ever present silos were still there. Laura got to try out her new bike! And before we left, we saw a robin signaling the hope ... Read More

Reach for the Skye

Posted By Xerraire On Thursday, June 14th 2007 In General | Tags: asheville, bike, crash, skye |
Reach for the Skye   This story is a parent's nightmare, yet there is hope. And for those who don't care for law for the use of bicycle helmets, this story makes the case for them. "After a year spent in Costa Rica, Skye, who is 26, returned to Asheville, North Carolina, with a new set of goals. One of them was to live without a car. On March 26 of this year she got a bike trailer and tested it, pedaling around a parking lot as her dog Dakota ... Read More
