Food or Fuel?

Food or Fuel? If you read the news headlines at all, between the economy, housing crisis, and food issues, it's all starting to sound like the Black horse of the Apocalypse. Consumer Confidence Falls to a 26 year low Many States Appear to be in a Recession UN secretary-general calls food price rise global crisis... Oil Prices Jump Oil shortage in UK ahead of strike: 'Stations running dry'... STUDY: Oil prices to double in next 4 years...   But it's this headline that I thought was a no-brainer even when this ... Read More

Al Gore, His $6,000 a Minute Speech

Al Gore, His $6,000 a Minute Speech   It's been awhile since I have picked on Al Gore, but a headline criticizing him with a $6,000 a minute speech caught my attention. The speech given at the Fortune Forum summit, was held at The Royal Courts of Justice and attracted world leaders, entrepreneurs and celebrity activists including Bob Geldof, Darryl Hannah and Jerry Hall. Some of the guests were getting bored and began to talk amongst themselves during the speech. "Al uses his position for great personal gain. He goes from ... Read More

A Tale of Two Houses

A Tale of Two Houses   (Except this tale is true! Ever since Mr. Jeff convinced us to go to D.C. and we saw for ourselves in the National Building Museum a "green" house , this has been an area of fascination for me)   HOUSE # 1: A 20-room mansion (not including 8 bathrooms) heated by natural gas. Add on a pool (and a pool house) and a separate guest house, all heated by gas. In ONE MONTH ALONE this mansion consumes more energy than the average American household ... Read More

Al

Al I saw this a few days ago on the Drudge Report, and thought just to let it go...but...I can't. :) This is Al Gore in his office. How much energy is he consuming here? Three huge computer monitors, and one large big screen TV. For that matter, how many trees lost it all to that pile on his desk? I just feel sometimes that the Global Warming Movement should perhaps get a "recount" on a new spokesperson.    2008 tax credit incomecredit 3-in-1 reportscard alliance-leicester creditamerican federal ... Read More

Scientists respond to Gore’s warnings of climate catastrophe

Posted By Xerraire On Wednesday, June 14th 2006 In News Items | Tags: australia, bob carter, climate, geophysical, gore, james cook, laboratory, marine, respond, scientists, university |
Scientists respond to Gore’s warnings of climate catastrophe "Professor Bob Carter of the Marine Geophysical Laboratory at James Cook University, in Australia gives what, for many Canadians, is a surprising assessment: "Gore's circumstantial arguments are so weak that they are pathetic. It is simply incredible that they, and his film, are commanding public attention." What's this? Someone even daring to doubt Gore? Surely this must be one out of only a few that believe this way. No says an article in CanadaFreePress.com "Carter is one of hundreds of highly qualified ... Read More
