Spoiled For My Birthday part 2 A month after my birthday, we are finally winding this up. :) Mom got me a bag for my laptop that opens to reveal a handle and wheels! It's been so heavy carrying my laptop the normal way, and I desired something smallish that would do the job! Carry on from Kohls! John got me two pairs of shoes and two pairs of shorts. I broke a pair in Australia and now I have two new pairs! (John thinks I dress like ... Read More

Security Tool

Security Tool When my friends and family have computer issues, they often come to be for advice or help. I like to help. Often their issues are challenging, but none more challenging than the spyware I had to deal with this week. I thought to share it as someone could be looking for help. It's called Security Tool. It's a rogue antivirus application that deliberately gives reports of false system security threats on your computer and displays fake security alerts or notifications to make ... Read More

Spyware Guard 2008

Posted By Xerraire On Thursday, January 8th 2009 In General | Tags: laptop, spyware, superantispyware |
Spyware Guard 2008 I have removed, with success, spyware from friends and family's computer before. There are certain steps I do first, then usually some research is required. Last night, Elise arrived at the house with her laptop with a very serious spyware problem. It was slow, had many pop ups on her browser, and ran a "scan" as if it were a legitimate spyware program. This was one different animal. It had even me believing it might not be spyware, but something that was part ... Read More

Live View Remote Shooting with the Canon 40D

Posted By Xerraire On Wednesday, July 30th 2008 In Personal | Tags: camera, canon 40D, laptop, live, photos, remote, shooting |
Live View Remote Shooting with the Canon 40D Have I mentioned how much I love my new camera? Through my forum at UniqueExposures, I learned of another feature this camera, the Canon 40D has. I can hook up the camera to my laptop and with the software,  point my camera  out of the window and sit at my desk and see what the camera is aiming at right on my laptop! I can focus from where I sit at the laptop, I can change the speed and aperature settings from there too. I think ... Read More

New Toy

Posted By Xerraire On Sunday, April 13th 2008 In Personal | Tags: computer, dual-core, hp, laptop, new |
New Toy My desktop PC is 5 years old. It's not running 100%, but it has been very good to me and I still love it. However, since a lot of what I do with running my sites, web & graphic design, homeschooling, photography, communications involves my computer, I felt it was time to get a new one before the old one potentially dies on me.  Since these days they make laptops as powerful as desktops, I decided to get a laptop. So, here is ... Read More
