"If ALL the nations in the world are in debt, where did the money go?"

In July, the Washington Post reported that the Air Force sought to divert a portion of $16.2 million set aside for the global war on terror. They wanted the funds to install first-class amenities called private "comfort capsules" on the military planes that whisk top officers and civilian officials around the world. The upgrades included 37-inch flat-screen monitors, plush leather seats, and full-length mirrors intended to ... Read More

Just when you think the newspaper media couldn't get anymore biased, you see them joining other industries with their hands out, asking the government for money.
This is a very bad idea. The media are supposed to be the watchdogs of corruption, not taking money from them.
Here's an idea, newspapers, PRINT THE TRUTH.
The people might even buy it, instead of the mindless, brainwashing, birdcage liners you give us now.

Well if Congress can get its raise I suppose bank executives can have their end of year bonuses.
As far as I am concerned both sides deserve each other. What isn't deserved is the average American taxpayer paying for it all - ask the waitress who spends 12 hours a day on her feet what HER bonus is...paying more taxes to keep Congress and banks happy?
The thing is, these aren't banks that are rolling in dough, these are banks that had their ... Read More

Do you mean to tell me that our government is practically writing blank checks, giving it away, only to have those companies use the bailout money, pay lobbyists to ask the government for more???
Lou Dobbs says:
Lobbyists from the banking industry and other groups are in a frenzy to win an even bigger share of the bailout for their clients. The list of industries seeking bailout money is expanding by the day. Lobbyists are making hefty profits even as this economic ... Read More

Perhaps this is the first lesson that Obama supporters have to learn.
Just because you worked and earned, getting paid in full might be but a thing of the past!
Obama campaign workers angry over unpaid wages
Lines were long and tempers flared Wednesday not to vote but to get paid for canvassing for Barack Obama. Several hundred people are still waiting to get their pay for last-minute campaigning. Police were called to the Obama campaign office on North Meridian Street downtown to control ... Read More

My Aunt and I likely couldn't count the hours we have discussed the Bible, Religions, Politics, Relationships, and all sorts of World Affairs.
She asked me to share something on my blog that was from her Sunday School class, especially since we are so close to election time:
Christianity should be an attraction to everyone...but it isn't. Why is that? It is because so many have made Christianity into a "religion"- it is a relationship, but it has been made into a religion by those ... Read More

This was forwarded to me and if it works or not, we'll likely never know!
The Birk Economic Recovery Plan
I'm against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG.
Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a We Deserve It Dividend.
To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000 bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+.
Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up..

The House on Monday defeated a $700 billion emergency "rescue". I am not surprised. In fact, to me it never looked like a good idea. On the up side, oil dropped $10 a barrel.
The Republicans are blaming the defeat on a Pelosi pre-vote speech and an Obama's indifferent attitude and being very little involved.
The Democrats said something different, "The Republicans killed this,'' said House Financial Services Committee Chairman, Barney Frank. Democrats noted that a majority of Republicans had opposed the bill, while ... Read More

I was watching Neil Cavuto today and he had a guest on his show named Larry Winget.
Neil was asking Larry about the Federal Rescue of Wall Street.
Larry was quick to remind him it was not a rescue, it was definately a bailout, and that it was irresponsible to reward bad behavior, which is exactly what we're doing by rushing to put money into something where no one goes punished or investigated. He also expressed concern over the rush of this ... Read More

I talked with someone recently, an Obama supporter, who said that the reason this country is in the financial shape it is in was because of lack of regulation.
I don't think he was aware of John McCain was one of the three cosponsors of S.190, the bill that would have averted this mess.
I am not sure he is also aware many of the senators who protected Fannie and Freddie, including Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Christopher Dodd, have received a ... Read More

I am trying real hard to understand Obama's latest declaration:
"...we are in the most serious financial crisis since the Great Depression."
And to be honest, after listening to news yesterday and today, things aren't looking too hot. I saw some headlines calling it the "Nightmare on Wall Street."
Here is my confusion, while Obama says he cares about people in general and this country, his half brother is still living in a shantytown, in poverty.
My other point of confusion is if we're in financial ... Read More

Money is a terrible master, but it's a good servant.
I don't think that I am a materialistic person, however we learned in a sermon by Dr. Michael Duffy in church a few Sundays ago, that 'wanting stuff' is basically in our fallen nature. He went on to say, "You don't really have to teach a child how to want stuff, you do have to teach them to SHARE."
He defined covetousness as "valuing stuff over relationships."
It's a destructive sin.
It's a trap and ... Read More

I got an email from Ann Coulter today.
She asks: "Do you know which special interest has given more money to the Obama and Clinton campaigns than any other?"
Not Labor Unions
Not the Green Lobby
Not NEA nor AARP
The answer is WALL STREET.
According to CNNMoney.com, Wall Street securities and investment firms have given over $35 million to Democratic candidates this election cycle. And the amount they've given to the Clinton and Obama campaigns is nearly five times the amount they've given to McCain.

It seems Hillary Clinton's campaign is short of money, and while it seems to me that they could tighten up with the $6,000 a night at the Bellagio and the tremendous steak and lobster dinners, she was found out to have taken 5 million of her own money and put it to her campaign.
Which had people asking, "Where did that money come from?"
The Clintons have made some disclosures, which reveal only broad ranges of assets, place her and former President ... Read More
The next time you hear a politician use the word "billion" in a casual manner, think about whether you want the "politicians" spending YOUR tax money.
A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into some perspective in one of its releases.
A. A billion seconds ago it was 1959.
B. A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.

A year after the devastating tsunami, a report emerges in the news that Overheads take up to 1/3 of tsunami funds.
Up to about a third of the $590 million U.N. fund spent for the Indian Ocean tsunami relief may have gone to pay for "overhead". It begs to ask, what overhead? Apparently its:
administration
staff
related costs
That sounds a bit vague to me. The newspaper also found several U.N. agencies continue to refuse to disclose details of their relief expenditure in spite of ... Read More
