We can assume anti-Romney. We can assume then pro-Obama? If so, I keep saying it, these often times are NOT nice people!
Early Friday morning, thugs presumably supporting President Obama beat up the son of Wisconsin State Senator Neal Kedzie outside of his apartment in Whitewater. Kedzie caught the two men removing a Romney sign outside of his apartment around two o'clock in the morning. After telling them to put the signs back, one of the thugs attacked Kedzie ... Read More

This past Saturday, we were invited to Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis to say good-bye to Elisabeth, who is off to work and study in Wisconsin. She has been wonderful to have in our home. She will be missed.
People come and people go in this household...who's next?

An interesting article in the TownHall:
Apparently Gov. Scott Walker knew exactly what he was doing.
Before he signed the bill limiting collective bargaining privileges, teachers unions throughout the state were slow to respond to calls for salary and benefit concessions.
They believed their members should be held harmless during a period of necessary cost-cutting. They didn't seem to care that Wisconsin schools were operating with multi-million dollar deficits that were forcing the layoffs of younger teachers and ... Read More

Here's something that made no sense to me.
While the whole world was watching the disaster in Japan, the Wisconsin democrats (the ones that shirked their responsibilities, refused to work, and looked down their noses at the democratic process) returned home, to a hero's welcome.
And the people who stayed behind, representing those that voted for them, being responsible, and are TRYING to keep the state from going down the toilet in financial ruin? Death threats.
State Sens. Joe Leibham and Glenn Grothman ... Read More

I was told by someone who knows someone who works at the Wisconsin Statehouse, that it stinks there. The hypothesis was that the protesters weren't bathing.
It's getting ugly in Wisconsin. Teachers (who are supposed to be role models) are LYING to get doctors notes for their absence. Obama's Organizing for America is busing in professionals to give major help with the protesting, Senators are being attacked, and now there are documented instances of the protesters defecating at the statehouse grounds.

Found on RedState
The American Thinker points out that, thanks to the refusal of the Wisconsin Democratic party to admit that last November’s elections mattered, a deadline for reducing the debt servicing load of the state of Wisconsin by $165,000,000 expires today. The money was to help pay a court case settlement involving a $200,000,000 raid on the Injured Patients and Families Compensation Fund in 2007 by the previous Doyle (D) administration; the Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled that using ... God help the governor who dares deal with the TRUTH of the state's financial situation.
From the Patriot Post:
It may look more like Socialist protests in Greece or France, but the latest incarnation of collectivist insurrection is under way in Madison, Wisconsin, spreading like a plague into Indiana, Ohio and other Midwest states.
Government union activists are protesting Gov. Scott Walker's effort to confront the Wisconsin's looming $3.6 billion 2012/13 budget deficit. Walker, a former county executive and state ... Read More

I couldn't resist borrowing that title from the Constitution Club.
They were writing about the uproar in Wisconsin.
“if a bill is brought before the Senate and your side doesn’t have enough votes to win…the correct thing to do is sneak out of town so that a vote cannot be held.”
Cowards.
The governor of that state inherited a huge budget issue, he ran on how to fix it, the people elected him, and now I think that the Examiner has it ... Read More

Apparently Joe Biden went to Wisconsin and had some bad news:
Vice President Joe Biden gave a stark assessment of the economy today, telling an audience of supporters, "there's no possibility to restore 8 million jobs lost in the Great Recession."
Appearing at a fundraiser with Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wisc.) in Milwaukee, the vice president remarked that by the time he and President Obama took office in 2008, the gross domestic product had shrunk and hundreds of ... Read More

It's not even Christmas yet, and alread I am feeling the blessings of the season through gifts, and as usual I like to share with them to my blog readers.
My very FIRST present this year was from Enric and Miranda. They noticed my reaction to the lovely birch trees in their area of Wisconsin. I was smitten with the white trunks and branches, even stopping in the road to take photos of them. What a very thoughtful surprise to open ... Read More

Mother's Day was a day of recovering from my trip and I spent it with my mom, together with my sister and her family.
For this mother's day, I thought I would share this lovely photograph I took of Miranda and little Silas. I took this image as we hiked around Reflection Lake at Northland, in Wisconsin.
Many blessings to all mothers!

addition to the family.
Baby Silas is so sweet and precious!
Likely I will be saying more about our time in Wisconsin over the
next days or weeks, but I thought I had better rush out an update
to anyone wishing to see photos of the baby.
So I have not only added a gallery of Silas, but also of Northland Baptist
Bible College and some general shots of Wisconsin as well.

My son would like me to move to Appleton, Wisconsin. I looked it up, it looks like a lovely place. It looks like a place I could take my camera and just have a grand time.
I suppose it's not out of the question. :)
So I named my latest Sim City 4 endeavor Appleton, and what the heck, John Fieck (Enric's good friend) is the mayor!
Things are all going well in Appleton...

Saturday, Miquel, Laura and I, took to the road, with the objective to meet Enric and Miranda in Toledo, Ohio. This was going to give Miquel a chance to go back to Wisconsin with them, getting a taste of college life for a month, practicing tennis with a student there, and just getting away from Maryland for awhile.

This date loomed before us with happiness and part dread. We had to be 800 plus miles to Wisconsin from Maryland overnight and back the next day to get the children back to Maryland, 800 plus miles more, in time for the vans leaving for camp.
When it was planned out months ago, it seemed like a total impossiblity. Yet, it had to be done.
