Yesterday, my actual birthday, I had a very relaxing day.
We had a nice family dinner together, ordering take-out from Texas Roadhouse.
I got even more presents!
Petra sent a designer doormat. I know what attracted her to it, the art work is tremendous, and the subject is birds! So me! Only thing is, it's a shame to wipe one's feet on it.

Last night my son and his band, Embers for Ashes, played at Recher Theatre in Towson.
Since I got my new 50mm f 1.8 lens for my Canon, I was anxious to get photos in these low light conditions.
I was also happy to go with Jim and Heather!
I was very pleased with the result of the photos!

In yet ANOTHER early birthday present, my mom gave me a new camera lens. It wasn't expensive, so I was dubious about its quality. After doing some research and hearing some testimonies, I felt it would be a good lens for portraits. I have already been thinking about adding portraits to my photography.
Laura was my first "victim" and we set aside today for our first photoshoot together.
