Cell Phone Photos
Laura and I played tennis the other day. The sky was an absolutely lovely fall sky. I hadn’t brought my camera with me as my usual. Then I remembered, hey, my cell phone has a 3 MP camera in it! So I pointed the phone upwards… This could be handy! … Read entire article »

Family Map
Along with my new phone plan, came this trial offer to try Family Map by AT&T. This helps me find Laura, or at least Laura’s phone. I also added my phone to the plan, because for some reason, we part at times. (I don’t guess I am the only one to lose my cell phone temporarily). So in signing up and trying it today, it gave me this map: As you can see the accuracy was off by … Read entire article »

Not Above the Law
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signs into law no cell phone use while driving. So his wife gets busted talking on the phone while driving. I don’t know what the penalty is for talking on the phone but the governor promised, “Thanks for bringing her violations to my attention. There’s going to be swift action.” Schwarzenegger spokesman Aaron McLear says that by “swift action,” the governor means he’ll ask his wife not to hold the phone while driving. A law that took effect in 2008 requires California drivers to use a handsfree device. Is that the “swift action” all Californians caught will receive? … Read entire article »

Calling Sheila Jackson Lee
Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-18) held her first in a series of town hall meetings yesterday. During a question from Tracy Miller, self-identified as both a constituent and a cancer survivor, and while she was talking, Rep. Jackson Lee picked up her cell phone from the podium and took a call. The entire room was abuzz, with both those for and against recognizing the rudeness of such behavior. It didn’t faze Rep. Jackson Lee at all, she continued talking and finished her conversation. That wasn’t the only time she wasn’t paying attention to her constituent. Several times, while people were asking questions, she walked to the front and engaged her staff in conversation. The arrogance from our elected officials just continues… … Read entire article »

World Reaches 2.5 Billion Cell Connections
I read this little statistic on the day that at 6 AM, someone I don’t even know from Asia decides to ring my cell phone with a text message. Three times. I wasn’t very happy about it. So, today I read and learn that the total number of worldwide cellular connections now stands at 2.5 billion. The people that track this information say that there are about 40 million new connections per month. Amazing. "A quarter of the growth … Read entire article »

New Cell Phone
Since spending money isn’t easy for me, any new purchase is usually an agonizing process. (Not your typical woman, eh?) Combined with the purchase, is that it is something that I have little knowledge and understanding of, other than I knew I needed one, the process became even harder. So, after quite a few weeks of learning what it was I needed and didn’t need, I walked into Cingular at Marley Station Mall, and bought my new … Read entire article »

Skype (Making and receiving phone calls on the computer)
I have recently downloaded and installed Skype, and thought to pass on a little information about it. Skype is a little piece of software that lets you make free calls over the Internet. Users can make superior quality voice calls to other Skype users for free and to landlines and mobiles worldwide for the price of a local call. It already has over 100 million downloads of the software and every day over 150,000 new users join … Read entire article »
