A Walk Without the Walk

Last week, Silas jumped off the bed and in doing so, his foot unfortunately met with a toy that punctured the bottom (of his foot) which sent him to the doctors, and then later the emergency room for stitches.

When he got home, he was good as gold, quiet, and did some quiet activities.

This is not our usual Silas, and finally his mommy thought to take a walk. But Silas couldn’t walk, so we put him in the stroller and figured out a way to do park activities without using his foot.

First, on our way, we stopped to see the horses, the small ones and then the bigger ones…

Here you can see Silas swinging in his stocking feet, as he couldn’t wear shoes…

…and sliding involved Mama or Tia Laura going down with him, which is also fun!

Silas is now, some days later, somewhat walking on the foot, using his tiptoes. Stitches come out Saturday!

Oh what fun! Glad he got to get out and enjoy the weather and horses, even though he couldn’t walk. Poor Silas!!! Hope he’s back on the mend soon.
