Anniversary: Cowaramup

Still our anniversary, moving on from Busselton, Reptiles, and ice cream, we went to Cowaramup.

We had passed through this ‘cow town’ before, so it felt a little “deja moo.” Cowaramup.

The name is believed to be derived from Aboriginal word Cowara, meaning Purple-crowned Lorikeet. Locals from the region often refer to the town as “Cowtown”, a reference to the use of “cow” in the town’s name and its history of dairy farming.

There are plenty of things to do in Cowaramup. Have your photo taken with the 42 life-sized fibreglass Friesian cows and calves that have taken over the town being one.

There would have been too many photos for just one blog, so I have put this part of our packed day in a slide show.

It’s a fun little town and worth a stop. Enjoy the slide show.
