Bush Walk in Koondoola

Early Saturday morning, we went on our guided bush walk in Koondoola Reserve.

Blueboy

Smokebush

Log Cabin Moth. Another common name for the Psychidae is “case moths”, but this is just as well used for the case-bearers (Colephoridae). The names refer to the habits of caterpillar of these two families, which build small protective cases in which they can hide.

Cow Kick. The largest of all triggerplants and named for the powerful ‘kick’ when triggered.

Native Violet

A finished Kangaroo Paw amidst the Smoke bush caught my eye.

Scarab beetle.

Has a touch of yellow…a hybrid Kangaroo Paw?
