Fear and Disappointments

I have had a hard few weeks.
Emotionally, professionally, and personally, it seemed to be a lot of disappointments at once.

Where I am not one to dwell on such things, when they keep happening, a new one piling up to the old ones, well then you start to let these pitfalls make you fearful.

I was looking to my Bible, but then I saw a little book next to it. “Transforming Fear into Faith”

The introduction was brilliant and I kept on till I read the book cover to cover. It explained that the Bible has more than 300 “fear-not” verses.

The writer, also put fear into two categories.

One, motivating fear – the kind of fear that makes you react in the face of danger or to be careful in the face of potential harm. The writer feels this is a God given and a valid emotion.

The other kind of fear he described and addresses is manipulating fear . The writer feels this isn’t God given at all, but rather a weapon of the devil.

A maipulating fear has the potential to:

  • Confuse your thinking
  • Confound your other emotions
  • Corrupt your body
  • Contaminate and hurt others
  • Control Your life

All good reasons to not give into them, and very good reasoning on how this well could be weapons of the devil.
One look around us though and we see how the media and the pharmaceutical companies have turned fears into a multi-million dollar industry.

    Hi Barb,

Having a mind that leans to over analyzing things, I also have a tendency to take counsel of my fears. I try to keep this quote from General Patton in mind:

“There is a time to take counsel of your fears, and there is a time to never listen to any fear.”

Learning when said times are applicable is, it would seem, the important part.

    Hang in there,

By some coincidence, I attended a meetup this past week, which dealt with fears and disappointments. It was a meeting, which taught us how to use accupressure in the form of “tapping” to heal our emotions in a matter of minutes. It is the answer to one’s prayers for everything from stress, to phobias, to addictions (such as smoking or drinking.) http://www.tapping.com/videos.html

I learned to “tap” for my farsightedness and dyslexia. Others for jealousy and childhood abuse issues. The uses are endless. The website I gave here simply has free instructional videos. The timid may want to visit a therapist the first time who is an expert in this therapy. My friend got rid of his cigarette cravings in five minutes that night. It was miraculous. Please give this some consideration for coping with the tough blows life has delt in the last couple months!
    My Prayers are with you,
    Deb

YouTube: That’s right, tons of tapping videos.
