My First Podcast

One of my members at Unique Exposures, (Brub) suggested that I do a podcast.

When he suggested it, he might have well said, “Phone Mars.”

I just didn’t even know how to begin.

It has been a while since he made that suggestion, and after a lot of educating myself, downloading different programs to use for recording and editing, Unique finally has its first podcast.

My first interview is John Dolphin of Perth, Australia.
Naturally, since this is a Unique Exposures project, the subject is his photography.

I suppose this first effort is amateur, and will likely improve, but this sure was an experience!

Here is a list of some of the programs we worked with:

Skype
Gizmo
Cool Edit Pro
Audacity

Skype ended up being the program we sat down and recorded with. At first Gizmo seemed the way to go, but Skype later had a built in recorder with its chat software and it worked out great. It’s amazing that via Skype, we sound like we are next to one another, instead of me here in Maryland, and he all the way in Australia!

Cool edit Pro ended up being the best for me as far as editing one sound file, and Audacity seemed the best for putting all the sound files together.

Congratulations! New technology projects always take more time than you expect. I’ve thought about doing some video lessons on YouTube (evangelism, pro-life reasoning, etc.) but just haven’t found the time.

Sorry … I’ve only just had the opportunity to listen. It’s come together very well. If you want to interview someone else from Perth, just let me know. 🙂

    I really like Audacity.
