Nineteen and Nails

My baby turned 19, and yesterday was the very day of her birthday. The celebrations however, started some days ago. Her English class gave her  pizza party, then Jenny and Miquel spoiled her by taking her out, of course we had a sweet celebration at my sister’s, and then it was time of her actual birthday. Well, I was going to make her wait till her other brother came home with his family to open my presents for her, but when she saw them stacked on the piano, she said, “I just have to open the BIG one the day of my birthday!”

Which I agreed.

She grabs “the big one” from the piano.

She was suspicious it was really going to be something small that I had put in a big box.

A nail polish station she has been wishing for to hold ALL her nail polishes!!!

But how to hang it? She showed me a handful of  ‘stuff’ and I told her some were screws, anchors, and such, and that I didn’t know much about how to hang them. We went upstairs to look for Enric’s drill, which we then figured needed “bits” and two confused gals went down the steps to attempt to hang it.

Laura didn’t let the unknown of tools stop her. After deciding to use one hole that was already there, we then used the level, marked the place for the other hole , and she got started.

And presto, she got it hung!

Then she dug out all her nail polishes, and I was immediately worried I didn’t get a nail polish station big enough.

It didn’t help my fears at all when she started to divide and separate them into brands and colors on the floor.

And the placing of nail polishes begins.

Relief! They all fit!

And then we followed her presents with another birthday wish, and that was to decorate the tree, which we did. The next day will be even more birthday with family!

Happy birthday, Laura, still my little girl at 19.
