On the Road Again and What We Saw

After finishing a short while at the Beekeeper’s Reserve, we went back on the road again.

The road was taking us more north and to the east.

Western Australia is a big state. Mostly the country roads look forever long.

John is ready to stop the car when I say STOP. This time my eyes caught a spider orchid. Not deep in the bush, practically greeting us on the side of the road!

We passed (twice) what looked like a very large butcher bird.

More spider orchids. It was starting to seem that we could stop every 100 yards and see more orchids on the side of the road.

While looking at the spider orchids, we saw a Mignonette Orchid.

We also saw a sweet purple flag in the sun.

There were plenty of these catching my eye, hooded lily.

It is just beautiful to drive along, I loved the purple cast to the hills in the distance.

Again with the Spider orchids, look how many.

Then a bug got in the car, and I had a screaming fit. We had to pull over again. This time to set the bug free.

At last, different spider orchids from all of the white ones we had been seeing. These were red.

I couldn't believe all that was found in one spot. I counted them, there were 41.

Now we would be on our way to Mount Lesueur.
