Reunited for Christmas

After two whole days of grueling travel, my husband from Perth has reached Maryland to celebrate Christmas with us.

Silas and Rubi both warmed up to “Pop Pop” right away, and it wasn’t long John was showing Silas the workings of an old Pentax camera.

The tradition in our family is, we get together once before Christmas to decorate cookies. John picked up some icing and joined in.

Sugar cookies were the main items we have decorated over the years, but Miranda has added gingerbread cookies to the tradition.

Jenny has been a part of this for quite some time now. 🙂

Even though it usually goes silly, we all take it a bit seriously too. Laura likes decorating the cookie cutter snowman into Ravens players.

The next day, allowing the icing to harden a bit, leaves a lot of temptation for the children AND their Nana who was babysitting them!

Silas can’t help himself any longer.

Maybe the decorating got a little romantic this year…

Pretty decorated gingerbread cookies

John shows Rubi some tricks with the slinky.

We’ve had some chill days, letting John get rested from his trip, well as chill as it gets around here anyway.
