Road Trip part 4

Still at the Slater Homestead, and finally seeing a human being to talk to, we decided to stay for Devonshire tea. This would give John the opportunity to make good on a plan to take me out to tea.

Now I am sure I was expecting to be brought out a nice big pot of tea, but this wasn’t the case. She pointed to the tea bags, the large kettle, and said tea and every thing is over there.

So I got two cups, decided on a Twinnings tea flavor, “Afternoon Tea”, and poured for John and I.

My tea. Anything should tasted good in this lovely cup.

Scones, jam, and cream. Even though I make this at home for John, it's nice to have it brought out to you once in a while.

John actually wasted no time getting his scones prepared.

Love seeing him enjoy himself!

And he says he can't take ME anywhere! Cheeky fellow.

So what do you think, should I insist he take me out for a proper Devonshire tea where I don’t have to serve myself, or should I let him get a pass with this one?

🙂
