Don't doubt that our religious liberties, one thing our country once stood for, are under attack.
One example is in California, in the city of San Juan Capistrano:
Chuck and Stephanie Fromm already have been fined $300 for holding Bible studies for their friends at their home, and they face the potential for additional fines of $500 for each study held, according to a legal team taking their case to court.

Fatherlessness - Our nation's number one social epidemic.
The United States is becoming an increasingly fatherless society. A generation ago, an American child could reasonably expect to grow up with his or her father. Today, an American child can reasonably expect not to. Fatherlessness is now approaching a rough parity with fatherhood as a defining feature of American childhood. (About 52% come from single homes)
There is no question that children who grow up in fatherless homes have a much ... Read More

I'm her mom and her teacher, and am always proud of Laura. Today both those roles were proud again, when she handed in this extra credit English project, a poem, which she put on one of her photos.
It reads:
Never should you forget the One who formed you in the womb
Never should you forget the Mighty One who can save you from your doom
Never should your Bible collect dust from neglect
For the One who inspired it, deserves your respect.

New Years often causes us to reflect on what is important.
Time is important. It's a subject that interests me, and one of my favorite songs is called "Time."
So I liked the insert that was inside our bulletins in church yesterday:
Discovering Life in Giving Time
by H. Joseph Miller
I understand that the Bible teaches that God made time. It belongs to Him. Furthermore, He controls my time (Psalm 31:15), a precious commodity whose quantity He controls while its quality depends greatly upon ... Read More

We often hear about the "Separation of church and State" from the onset of our Founding Fathers ideals, yet, this tour proves otherwise.
Did you know that the first Bible printed in English in America today, was first printed by Congress for use in our schools?
Did you know Thomas Jefferson sent missionaries to evangelize the Indians using federal funds to do so?
Did you know that out of the 56 signers of the Declaration, 29 had seminary or Bible School degrees?

Ever hear people talk of socialism or communism as a very Jesus/New Testament thing to do?
It's interesting how quick they scold the masses to put their Bibles away when discussing politics, but how quick they pull it out in justifying their argument for the redistribution of wealth. Even Obama:
"My Bible tells me there is nothing wrong with helping other people," said then-Sen. Obama. "That we want to treat others like we want to be treated. That I am ... Read More

I went to the question: "Is there an argument for the existence of God?"
I had to look at former atheist Lee Strobel's quote:

This came to my inbox today:
Malachi 3:3 says: 'He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver.'
This verse puzzled a group in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God.
One of them offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study.
That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't ... Read More

In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity. ~Titus 2:7
In a pregraduation service at Northland, they acknowledged the spouses of the graduates with towels and a single rose. This seemed so right to me. Enric had a few obstacles and as many do, and faced a few hardships along the journey. How much easier was it with the support and love of his wife, Miranda.
