“I can make a firm pledge. Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes,”
President Obama, September 12, 2008
I guess as time goes on, we will continue to learn what was inside that MAMMOTH health care bill that Obama "gifted" to us.
From GOP.GOV
Beginning January 1, 2013, ObamaCare imposes a 3.8% Medicare tax ... Read More

A year later with Obama in office, the outlook is bleak, from our national security, to finances, and even to the price of gas.
Not sure it's as grim as the headlines in Drudge this morning, but this is how many FEEL, isn't it?
GINGRICH: Obama 'most radical president ever'...
LIMBAUGH: Obama 'inflicting untold damage on this great country'...
MARK LEVIN: Civil disobedience is coming...

Speaker Pelosi’s national energy tax is going to raise electricity prices, increase gasoline prices, and ship American jobs overseas to countries like China and India. This, we know.
It would be a bureaucratic nightmare overseen by a confusing web of government agencies that would take and redistribute trillions of dollars from family budgets and workers payrolls. This, we also know. Even Agriculture Committee Chairman Collin Peterson (D-MN) admitted in the Washington Post this morning that: “The truth is, nobody knows for sure how this is ... Read More

Yet another rainy day for John's holiday in Maryland.
Fortunately we had Cameron here to entertain us and us entertain him.
Now Mr. Dolphin isn't a stranger to Cameron, as they talk on the webcam each Wednesday.
So in short order, Cam was on John's lap and looking out the window, through the rain, watching the birds and squirrels.
John also built Cam a train track to play on.
John himself took some photos, show how much Yaya and I love the dear little Cameron....

“A man’s commitment to his beliefs is best measured by what he does behind the closed doors of his own home,” said Drew Johnson.
Drew Johnson, President of the Tennessee Center for Policy Research goes on to say, “Al Gore is a hypocrite and a fraud when it comes to his commitment to the environment, judging by his home energy consumption.”
Why is Mr Johnson saying this? Wasn't Al Gore supposed to update his home to be more "green" like George Bush's ... Read More

I had a conversation of my own with Grit (of Brit and Grit ) and became immediately curious as to the views outside his window, which he was nice enough to supply . However, I was told I need to return the favor.
Images of where I live I have posted already at Unique Exposures . Here are two views when all was greener:
As you can see we have a barn next to the house. A swing in the front.

"Men for the sake of getting a living forget to live."
~Margaret Fuller
There are a lot of ways being self-employed can be a scary thing, but I agree with this News Article that says: Happiness is working for yourself
The job may be long on hours and short on pay.
But working for yourself will make you much happier than those employed by others, according to research.
People who run their own businesses have such flexibility and independence that they enjoy far greater ... Read More
