Mr. South

It’s different growing up being best friends with the preacher’s kid. I mean, she could tell you a nighttime story that could scare you to death, and then point out all the verses in the Bible why I shouldn’t be afraid. This, one of my best friends lost her dad last night. He just wasn’t my best friend’s dad. I grew up with her family and her father was our pastor. He helped lead me to the Lord, he baptized me, and he could create the best and most fun Vacation Bible schools ever. The South’s are like an extended family, more than friends. Questions & Answers

Today I went to a very intense question and answer session. You see, the children’s youth pastor was ordained today. This was the first ordination I had ever gone to, as churches I had gone to before, this was a very closed ritual. Where we attend now, its open to the whole church body. One has to feel sorry for the candidate seeking ordination in a way. He will be questioned by a large group of men and he has to come up with very good answers on the Bible and his beliefs. In the span of 2 hours 118 questions were asked. Here are a few, how would YOU answer the following? » DO YOU SEE THE 10 COMMANDMENTS AS PART OF GOD’S MORAL LAW? IF SO, ARE THOSE STILL APPLICABLE TODAY, SPECIFICALLY … Read entire article »
