Guess Who’s Coming for Dinner?

Occasionally, I like to invite a hard working Pastor for dinner.

The Pastor in the church we’ve been attending here is from the USA originally. I thought it might be nice to have as guests our first Americans, the pastor and his wife.

I decided on a Spanish dish for our Americans,  Fideus a la Casola to be followed up by Golden cake with Chocolate icing.

Since I am not yet totally settled in my new home and kitchen, guests are still a challenge for me.

So before they came, there was one thing I knew we needed, a new tablecloth. There was the green one we bought and it got stained and then the stain-proof one that became victim of the ice cream incident of 2014.

There was the green one we bought and it got stained and then the stain-proof one that became victim of the ice cream incident of 2014. So here we carefully chose a brown one that hopefully won’t show any stains and added to the mix some easy wash place mats.

The pastor called and asked what could he bring? He suggested some non alcoholic sparkling grape juice, which I told him goes perfect with the meal. But then I realized we didn't have fancy glasses for that. So while we were at Officeworks looking for paper and ink, we picked up some glasses. Not sure what wine glasses has to do with Office supplies but that was mighty handy.

Time came to fix the dinner. I couldn't help but think of my children as I assembled all the ingredients. This has to be collectively one of our favorite meals.

Then it was time. Our guests arrived on time, we had salad which they loved the olives filled with anchovies, the pasta dinner was a hit, apparently the Pastor loves pasta.

We had good conversation. Apparently our wall poster of our wedding day with the footprints on the beach is a great conversation piece as well. I didn’t take my usual photos, I didn’t want to scare them away. They will get used to this snap happy girl soon enough.

So the one thing we learned our kitchen is missing is forks. So the next day since it was rainy we went shopping. And because I was giddy and happy about our long weekend together, I tried creative photos of us.

So now we have a set of six.
Thinking I should have maybe got two sets.
