Traveling to Perth
With Christmas and New Years done, we had to start thinking about going home to Perth. I suppose most couples have obstacles in their marriage, ours is definitely all that it takes to BE together. The travel is not easy; the expense, the time…if nothing else, we are a testament in doing what it takes to be together as much as possible. Travel apart and alone can be a very weird experience. It’s happier doing it together, but even that takes its toll physically.
I pray there is a special blessing for Jimmy, who picked us up at 3 AM to take us to the airport. That’s a true friend, folks.
We arrived to BWI a little early, which was good, it gave us time to situate ourselves for the next two days travel. Soon enough everything opened, we got our boarding passes, went through security, and was flying the friendly skies of United to San Francisco.

According to the board we had about 8 hours to kill. This always happens with this Air New Zealand trip. One day we will learn how to venture out into San Francisco. This time around, both of us tired and recovering from colds, we were content to stay put.

So we had time to kill…time to pull out my tablet and take pictures as I learn how to work this thing.

The movies in the plane weren’t working correctly, that’s OK, my sister and her husband gave me this book to read.

I rarely pay attention to barf bags on planes. Unfortunately on this flight, while most were asleep, I needed it. It wasn’t until the next day I saw what was written on them. Kiwi humor.

Also time for a coke, and a realization that I am now in the Southern Hemisphere where it is summer.

Where else in the world where they list your gate, do they just tell you to relax? So we put our feet up and did just that.

Here we are the next day, back home in Perth, happy to be on our front veranda with so much to be thankful for.
Praying for another blessing for Georgie, who somehow managed to pick us up at the airport even though it was her first day back to work. She was met with two very tired looking people and she just dropped us off and left us to it. She’s a gem!
Love you both, so good to see you home safe!!! Remember Skype often!!
