Wedding Reception

Carrying on in doing things like no other couple does, two weeks after our wedding, Georgie held a wedding reception for us.

She asked us to dress up like we did for the wedding which I was happy to do, I’m such a girl. 🙂

Wishing well Georgie made.

Even while I was in the states, this cake was in the planning stage, Georgie finding out my favorite color was peach.

The top tier details, I LOVE the doves!

Georgie gives a sweet speech congratulating us and making me feel welcome to the family.

After a marvelous spread of food, it was time to cut the cake, which proved difficult.

John quickly takes charge. Or maybe my family told him, don’t let mama have a knife. 🙂

I like John’s ways best, forget the cake, let’s kiss.

Ok, maybe we should get this thing cut, the crowd was getting impatient, hehe.

Right after he about bit my fingers off in fear I would smash him with cake, he feeds me.

Something unfair here, I am holding cake, and he is eating icing!

A cozy place for the newlyweds that Georgie made. She thought of everything!

The evening was wonderful. But one part of the evening was truly special, listening to John’s dad sing Around The World in 80 Days. Good song choice as John and I had to go around the world to meet, to grow, and finally to wed. Enjoy, I love to hear his dad talk and sing. It did take a little prodding, but he finally sang.

Around the world I searched for you
I traveled on on when hope was gone to meet a rendezvous.
I might have been in County Down
Or old New York, or gay Paree
or even London town
No more would I go all around the world.
For I have found my world in you.

Thanks to all who came and made our evening special, and thanks to Georgie for the sacrifice of her labors to put on this sweet evening for John and I. I love my new sister.
