A Day for the Birds part 1

John remembered that our last visit to Perth, one of my favorite parts was the WA Birds of Prey show held inside Whiteman Park on weekends. However, for awhile now these shows weren’t being held, but as luck would have it, for the month of April, precisely while I am here, Yvonne is able to have some weekends at Whiteman Park, so we were sure to go. If you haven’t seen this yet in the Perth area, I would encourage you to go!

Pandora, the female black kite.

Yvonne with Petra, the male Australian Kestrel

Oska, the barking owl and John's personal favorite. Oska has a lot of character, and apparently they bonded long ago. 🙂

GT, the brown falcon.

Micro, wedged-tailed eagle.

Bee is a male Whistling Kite, who can catch food on the wing and then transfer it into his beak.

I get a turn with GT, the brown falcon.

John went last and so he got to hold GT for a long, long time.
