If My Cell Phone Told the Story: Christmas Day

I am hosting Christmas Day and the dishwasher decided to break.

Laura and I at Christmas

Me posing with my Christmas helper, a little Laura elf who made sure the house was completely ready for guests.

No time to bring out the Canon on Christmas, so I only got a few photos from my cell phone.

And seriously? The dishwasher had to break then and leak water to Laura’s room below? As if hosting Christmas wasn’t stressful enough, I found myself almost tied at the sink washing dishes from the night before and as I went along the day. When people arrived, I made sure to keep the dishes constantly being cleaned.

I was so thankful for the paper plates we picked up shopping.

Christas dinner table

I still think of it as Mom’s table, and strive to rise to the occasion and make her proud.

From the other end. Oh,  bless paper plates from Walmart!

Dessert follows dinner. Everyone contributed. Even Petra & Leoni supplied the floral centerpiece.

Mom's fudge

Once again, I tried mom’s fudge. It was OK, Laura liked it, but it wasn’t Mom’s.

Gingerbread cookies

Everything was delicious, and I am growing very fond of Miranda’s gingerbread cookies.

Glad for a moment to sit down, relax and cuddle Mireia.

Connor and Mireia

I had such a wonderful time watching Connor give Mireia attention.

Kim Connor and Mireia

Well they only had eyes for each other a long while.

Finally Connor got to hold her.

As I write this, 3 months later, the kitchen and dishwasher is fixed. Hopefully everything holds up for next Christmas!
