Lovers Lane

What do you do when you see a sign that marks a small road that takes you off course called Lover’s Lane? You take it naturally! The map I had promised a scenic road.

It was very inviting.

It was reminding me of some tree lined roads in Europe.

Traveling along we saw some abandoned buildings.

Then because of all the rains, we came to this place in the road being overtaken with a flood of water.

John wanted to cross it with his car, but I was fearful. So he went and took his shoes and socks off, rolled up his pants to show me how deep it really was.

Not sure he was ready for how COLD it was.

Then he was just being sassy.

He was happy to see another car go passed me to show to me how it could go through the flooded road.

It did make it through.

I guess I am not easily impressed, I wanted to stay on Lover’s Lane, which continued to offer lovely places like this.

Carrying on we saw more wildflowers like this pink orchid.

… lovely views.

Finally we came across some sundews. Seeing how the first photos of some had failed before, I dug out my macro lens, John’s tripod, and finally got a nice photo of one, this one had a fly inside it.

Here I am, working that macro lens in the rain, no less.
