Shenandoah Valley

Jim and Chris invited John and I to the Shenandoah Valley Long Branch Hot Air Balloon & Wine Festival . They also held a car show.
So after being in a few cities, off to the mountains we went.

On the way there, we made a stop around Harpers Ferry, and with Heather leading the way, we scaled down a hill to the waters below.

The view was beautiful with Harpers Ferry in the distance.

The girls climbed a rock and posed.

John found a fishing pole.

Reaching Long Branch, we were treated to countryside scenery.

Cameron got a maraca to play with.

Chris and Jim talk to the folk there at the car show.

John is always showing me his photos from car shows he goes to in Australia, so it was nice to be able to go to one with him. So I get to take a picture of him with a 57 Chevy…

…and he gets me with a fire engine.

Pumpkins and other autumn fare made the festival even more special for me, it’s my favorite time of year.

What’s a festival without food? Chris digs in to a plate of homemade fries, and reminds me that sometimes things don’t change over the years.

Cameron, who was good as gold, gets a chance to break from the stroller and play on bales of hay.

It was a lot of fun, even though it was too windy to launch the balloons.

More photos of the day here: (John definately took more car photos than Barb!)
