Maryland Renaissance Festival

I have long wanted to go to the Renaisaance Festival, but for one reason or another, I never got to go.

While still in Australia and his trip still in the planning stages, it ended up that Maryland’s RenFest was one of the items that helped decide when John would come. He asked me to pick a weekend of my choice, and he planned his trip around October 18th, as I chose Chivalry Weekend.

Out of all our outings taken in the near past two weeks, this one was special.

We arrived after church, and a little late in the day, so everything was in full swing.

We heard “political debates”…

Acts from a “skinny East German” guy – very funny….

…jousting…

Tight Rope Walkers…

Then John literally chased down a woman in a black swan hat!

I knew why, the Black Swan is the emblem of his state, Western Australia.
She posed nice for him.

There were shops everywhere, including this one with traveling wear wth prices like $400. I thought to at least show one off for his sister Georgie.

It was a magical and fun day.

We came home to a turkey dinner cooked by mom, which John enjoyed very much.

Hey John, You could buy me one of them as a combined Christmas/Birthday present. It won’t take up much room in your case if you roll it up really small. 🙂

Really enjoying seeing the photo’s, can’t wait to see the rest when you get home.

    Cheers
    George
