Sunset at the Indian Ocean

They call the coast here by the Indian Ocean, the Sunset coast. It earns its name almost daily.

“They who dwell in the ends of the earth stand in awe of Your signs; You make the dawn and the sunset shout for joy.” Psalm 65:8 (NASB)

Anyone who really knows me, knows I love a good sunrise and a good sunset. Our home in Australia is in the west, and the Indian Ocean is not far. We are in a perfect location to catch a good sunset. When they happen, that is. In my opinion, clouds are needed to make a good sunset, at least a nice dramatic one. I had been waiting patiently for some nice clouds. After going to the car museum, we could see clouds and headed to the beach.

We got there a little early.

It was a good time to watch the gulls.

Then came the first signs of color and a setting sun.

A beach and sunset, not much more romantic…

When it starts, sometimes the sun can really set fast, but this one lasted awhile I thought.

Dark clouds add drama.

At this point, I was getting emotional. Sunsets just make me so happy.

and what can you do with such beauty, but to thank God for it?

There always seems to come a point where you can’t believe you’re still watching the same sunset, so many changes occur.

Almost that last moment when the sun says it’s last good night.

But the show isn’t over.

The sky just explodes. Love when that happens!

When we couldn’t snap our cameras any longer, we finally went home, and John was laughing at me because I was so happy. He was happy too. I sure hope we get to see more soon.
