Susie Buckwalter

I have a grandmother who I never met. She passed away before I was born, in fact, she died very young while my own mother was just a little girl.

Mom found a “Autograph Book” that belonged to my grandmother’s sister, Nina.  (Laura deemed the book the early 20th century equivalent to writing on someone’s facebook wall).

What a delight to see her signature there!

Laura was fascinated with the attention to penmanship back then!

Some good advice: “Love many, trust few, and always paddle your own canoe. Susie.”

A message to her sister: “May your life by long and happy, may your sorrows be but few, May you find a home in heaven, When your work on earth is through. Your Sister, Susie Buckwalter”
