The Devil Goes to Church

Thorny devil that is.

Some time back John sent Miquel a thorny devil figure. Vicious looking but delicate, it survived the trip from Australia to Maryland, but it wasn’t long it broke and had to be glued back together. We didn’t have the wall unit back then so I took it off Miquel to have it safely kept in my room.

Later, we got the wall unit put up and created what I like to call, an “Australia Shelf.”
There, the thorny devil was put in safety for all to see and appreciate. Recently we had to work on our floor and everything in the wall unit was packed away carefully, but after the floor was finished, and I unpacked all to put back on the Australia shelf, it was clear at once that the thorny devil would need repairs again.

Now in the kitchen there is a window where we put things that need fixing. Most of the time Miranda gets this job.

So this morning as I am half asleep and making my tea, and this just says Miranda all over it, I see this:

Mended thorny devil stuck upside down into Mom’s church/candle.

Well the sight struck me as so funny I went to get my camera and get a closer look.

Yep, that’s a thorny devil stuck upside down into mom’s church.

At this point my only conclusion could be that someone glued it and put it in the first place they could find to let the glue set.

Very funny morning scene. Not sure who created it, but if I am  correct, it would be just like Miranda to take the devil to church!
🙂

Cute (and repaired) thorny devil.
