Dedication

As a Baptist church, we do not baptize infants as we believe they need to make their own mind up as to their belief and faith when they are of an age when they understand what it is all about. However, we do dedicate babies to the Lord and thank Him for the gift of a child. We also covenant to bring up our children under God’s blessing in a Christian environment where they can thrive and come to place of making their own mind up on spiritual things. The church is the witness to this promise and also dedicate in helping the parents.

This is what Stacey committed to today at Immanuel Baptist Church.

Connor was a bit shy.

Not only are you dedicating your child to God, you are dedicating yourselves, as parents, to Christ and the church. You are committing yourselves to maintaining a Christian home, where Christ is honored and the Word of God is held in high regard.

A childs first impression of God comes from you. Children sense our commitment to God and are far more perceptive than we sometimes realize. For that reason, you need to be diligent in your own commitment to experience, know and become like Christ.
